The Nærøyfjord is a branch of the Sognefjord and extends for about 17 kilometers, with mountains rising up to 1,800 meters above sea level. As part of the UNESCO World Heritage list, this area is a remarkable example of Norway’s natural beauty.

Encircled by steep mountains and waterfalls, it offers a tranquil atmosphere and some of the most beautiful scenery in the region.
The village is home to the famous Flåm Railway, which winds its way from the fjord up to the mountain station at Myrdal – a remarkable train journey often described as one of the most beautiful in the world.

- Stegastein Lookout - Stegastein is a spectacular viewing platform that extends 30 meters out from the mountainside, 650 meters above the Aurlandsfjord. From here, enjoy an incredible panoramic view of the fjord and the surrounding mountains – a favorite stop for both visitors and locals.
The platform is part of the National Tourist Route between Aurland and Lærdal, offering a unique opportunity to experience Norway’s dramatic landscape up close.
Occasionally, summer fog can reduce visibility at this height, but on such days an alternative stop is made in Aurland.
- Stalheim - After visiting Stegastein, the journey heads back toward Bergen. On the way, a stop is made at the historic Stalheim Hotel, majestically located with panoramic views over the dramatic Nærøydalen Valley.
The hotel has welcomed guests since the 1800s and holds a rich history, including royal visits and serving as a source of artistic inspiration.
From May 1st to August 31st, a stop is instead made once more in Gudvangen for a well-deserved break at Gudvangen Fjordtell.
