Informative about Vikings but simple - Good film clips about the Vikings . Fun and simple . Interactive and educational. Great for kids and all the family.

A glance at the future of museums? - I really enjoyed my first experience of virtual reality and found the whole exhibition really interesting. Had the actual Viking museum not been being redeveloped I would probably not have come here but I am glad I did.

Interesting experience - A good interactive experience, perfect for a rainy day activity. Quite short though. Expensive to add on the VR experience so didn’t do that bit.

Good family fun - Very nice clean place. Very friendly staff and easy to navigate. 270° film was very cool, the VR was lacking a bit of an update but still was fun. Interactive screens were easy to use and very good clarity. Tons of info, and fun camera pics. Only thing lacking was just wanted a bit more… more clothing for the picture area, and maybe a cool background. All in all, good family fun, and educational stop worth the trip

Could be so much better... - Lots of interesting information, laid out in a, to us, haphazard way. My major complaint concerns the main event, the virtual reality movie. The scenes were badly focused, just not as sharp as they should be in 2025. And the sound was very poor. My headset had one speaker not working...I tried another and it was the same. My wifes was also had one speaker dead. There is no volume control and the pre-set volume is quite low..especially with only one speaker! After the film had finished I spoke with the girl who was the showing us to our seats. She said that they know that some speakers do not work but there is no time to repair them! ! That is no excuse whatsoever. Overall rating....what could have been a reccomendable experience is not...until the management takes an interest in their product.

Expensive with no new info - The guide time is 1-2 hours, even if you read every single word I can’t imagine it taking that long. £20 is excessive for a short video and some info to read on the walls of one large room.

Expected more - Visited the Viking Planet last weekend. We was looking forward to this immensely. Unfortunately our expectations weren’t met. The exhibition were smaller than expected. The AR experience was not as synced as we were hopping for. Who was killed by whom? Instead of being a fantastic experience highlighting an important part of the Norwegian history, we got a, more or less, classical tourist trap. That’s sad. Of course it is our own fault we fell for it. But not again. We can’t recommend a visit.

Terrible - This was not worth the time or money. Could get the same experience watching a YouTube video. Would recommend skipping.

Outdated and rubbish - Positives: - interesting to see the 3D Viking costumes Negatives: - no clear information about the Viking history in Norway - technology outdated and slow - animation very clunky and not synchronised - lack of language to bring animation alive - incredibly expensive for such a paucity of information, especially in comparison to other fantastic museums in Oslo which were cheaper than this one. - we came out not feeling we had learnt anything or being inspired. - we felt hugely disappointed and exploited of our money. We would strongly recommend not visiting this museum! For anyone from the UK there is strong reference to York so we think there is more to learn from the Jorvik Museum.

Very Poor - To Be Avoided! - Terrible waste of money! This is expensive and very, very poor. We spent about 45 mins in the small venue but could have done most of it and been out in 20 mins. Others must know this already as there were no more than 10 people in there, including us. Spend your money elsewhere!
