Vulkan
Meet your guide at Mathallen Food Hall’s main courtyard entrance (Vulkan 5). Look for the red brick building with “1908” above “MATHALLEN OSLO.” This entrance faces the open square near Dansens Hus. Do not go to the river bridge side with “Mathallen” in red letters — that’s the wrong entrance.

Wonderful Experience - The tour was informative and fun. We spent three hours enjoying delicious (and not too much) food and along the way great stories about Oslo and Norway. The walk was quite doable (stairs) and well paced. This is a great way to learn about Norwegian society snd culture.

Great food tour - This was a great tour, the guide Shaf was very nice and he explained everything about the food, area and norwegian culture, he also answered every one of our questions. The food was amazing, they were able to offer options to a peschetarian like me, I especially enjoyed the fish cake and Norwegian waffles. 100% recommendable

Shaf was a great tour... - Shaf was a great tour guide. Great reindeer stew, charcuterie plate with beer. Walked the neighborhood, hot/cold chocolate, cinnamon bun. Finally a waffle. Very informative. About 3 hour tour.

Educational & delicious in Oslo - We had no idea what to expect as this tour had been set up on our behalf, but we were really delighted by the whole experience. Shaf is a warm, knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide who went beyond the basics to give us very interesting insights into Oslo life and culture, relating to both the specific neighbourhood where we walked as well as to the more general. The food was all delicious (that cinnamon bun! those waffles!) and a great springboard for learning about what makes Norway Norway. Thank you Shaf!

Good tour, good food, good company - Good tour, good food, good guide :) It's a mix of a food and walking/culture tour, in a less touristy area in Oslo. Not the cheapest, but definitely enjoyable and our guide was so patient with us asking a million questions :)

- The food was delicious and Jack, our guide, shared lots of great information about this cool area! Even the Norwegian in our group learned something new about his city.

Small and tasty restaurants - Fun to experience restaurants you might have never tried and learned some of their history. Be open to trying new local foods!

Not worth it - Hated beer choice on first stop Bartender would not change for a different beer even though it was a tiny glass. Small amount of lukewarm stew and sliced meat was just ok there. Went next for a tasteless cinnamon bun and hot chocolate at a tiny stop with zero atmosphere. Last stop was a waffle ( after a cinnamon bun! ). The place only had 6 seats all infested by bees. We couldn’t even stay there to eat All 6 left tour prematurely! Who wants two desserts in a row with hardly any food on a FOOD TOUR? Insane disappointment for a lot of money With that being said, Alicia was very nice. It wasn’t her fault.
