Unexpected highlight! - We visited with our Oslo passes having been to the fram museum next door. We didn’t know anything about the Kon Tiki but found the story at the museum so interesting that when we got back home we immediately watched the documentary. What a story!

A fantastic experience - As a child I was at the local library in Randers, where I watched the documentary film about Kon-Tiki. Here I saw the movie again. It was a great experience to visit the museum, and you can easily visit some of the other museums that are just nearby.

Excellent Museum - Highly recommend. It was great to see the actual ships after reading the book and seeing the documentary as a child. The museum is very well done. Easy to get to by bus or ferry using the Oslo pass. Highly recommend!

An archaeological adventure as fascinating as it is terrifying - The Kon-Tiki Museum allowed me to discover an archaeological adventure that I did not know existed. The story of this experimental expedition is absolutely fascinating and sometimes terrifying, as the conditions in which the crew travelled seem incredible. The film, produced as a report by the crew members themselves, is a real highlight of the visit. It is detailed, captivating and gives an authentic overview of the challenges they faced in the open sea. This museum is a unique dive into a little-known page of history that blends boldness, ingenuity and exploration.

Thor Heyerdahl museum - Great small museum about Thor Heyerdahl - the Kon Tiki and the Ra, as well as his works. We found the exhibits very approachable and informative. This is a great activity for folks of all ages. I look forward to revisiting when I return to Oslo.

Nice museum with thought given to engaging kids - Nice museum with engaging story. There’s a kids simplified story alongside it which is a nice touch and they can do a quiz to get a sticker. Good way to round off the three nautical museums.

Oslo, Kon-Tiki museum - The museum is opposite the Fram museum, maw two museums view in the same time! The museum tells the story of the papyrus raft that sailed from Peru to the Polynesian Islands, to prove that this was possible!

More than museum we would say an exhibition - If the Louvre deserves 5 stars, the Kon-Tiki deserves half, even a quarter.... Let's be honest, if we talk about museums this has nothing to do, it's a very nice exhibition of these trips made by Thor Heyerdahl. It is incredible the story of the journey he made with the two ships present in this exhibition but we just can not speak of a museum. The ships were made of balsa and papyrus, placed in two different eras of the structure, which are connected by a corridor in which it seems to be in a cavern of Easter Island, where there are some ancient artifacts dating back to these territories. There is also a cinema room where a short film dating back to the journey is shown and with the explanation strictly in English. Some captions were in Italian but mostly in English or Norwegian only. At the end of the museum it seems to be in a bazaar, everything is really sold.... the museum souvenirs can be counted on the fingers of one hand, all the remaining merchandise are stuffed animals, games, soaps, etc... in short, not relevant to what seen before Adequate ticket cost 280 nok (23,81) for 2 adults, present lockers for storing bags and jackets with free key, clean bathrooms. The Kon- Tiki can be visited in an hour, so adjust for the parking fee (we used easypark) in the immediate vicinity Good vibes....the puppets
