A truly charming and memorable cooking experience - This cooking class was an absolute highlight of our time in Japan. Yayo welcomed us into her own apartment and immediately made us feel at home — the setting was intimate, relaxed, and wonderfully authentic. She is absolutely adorable and a fantastic teacher, guiding us step by step through making okonomiyaki and several other delicious Japanese dishes. Everything was explained clearly, with plenty of tips about ingredients, techniques, and everyday Japanese home cooking along the way. It felt far more personal than a typical class, more like being invited into a local’s home to cook together. We left full, happy, and with recipes we’ll genuinely use again. Highly recommended for anyone who wants a warm, genuine, and hands-on cultural experience.

Awesome class with Yayo - I purchased this cooking class for my husband to celebrate his birthday and Yayo did not disappoint! We were the only couple there and had a really engaging and one on one type experience. This was one of our favorite experiences in Japan and it really made us feel like we could make these dishes at home. I actually liked what we made with Yayo more than what we had purchased in Osaka the previous evening. It felt healthier and more authentic. Yayo's mom even made the miso paste and plum wine that is served. We cannot recommend this class enough. It is a good value for your money and it is incredibly unique. We felt very welcome in Yayo's home. Thank you so much for your hospitality, Yayo!

Delicious food with a lovely host! - This was such a fun and wholesome experience! I was traveling solo and ended ip being the only guest that day which made it a special private cooking lesson. The lesson was in the host’s own apartment and was super personal and engaging. Each dish was delicious and she even left me with a little gift at the end. She was the sweetest person ever! She gave lots of good info and guidance - super encouraging throughout the lesson. Can’t wait to try recreating some at home! Great way to try some local Osaka classics, highly recommend,

A taste of Japan! - My partner and I didn’t know what to expect going in, but what an experience! Our guide Yayo was the perfect host for us in her lovely home. We were able to learn about the history of Japanese cuisines, including the origin and different styles/preferences across different parts of Japan. With tea and a beverage at the ready, participants were able to partake in assembly and cooking of the various eats under the careful guidance of Yayo. Highly recommended!
