• Orvieto - The history of Orvieto dates back approximately three thousand years, beginning with the Etruscan civilization in Italy’s Umbria region. Today, it is a charming and historic town perched on a tuff hill, 1066 feet above sea level. Visitors can explore the town by strolling through its classic Italian streets, visiting its renowned cathedral (Duomo), and exploring its archaeological underground site.
• Duomo di Orvieto - This cathedral is considered one of the most stunning in the world, located in the town’s main square. The history of the Duomo of Orvieto began with its construction between 1290 and 1591 A.D., the year it was completed. Its Gothic and Romanesque architecture, combined with its grandeur, will immediately captivate visitors. If time allows, there is an opportunity to explore its interior.
• Orvieto Underground - After a city walk, visitors can explore a unique site: Orvieto Underground. A one-hour guided tour will take them through a maze of tunnels carved by the ancient inhabitants of Orvieto over 2500 years ago.
• Orvieto - Following the exploration of Orvieto and its attractions, there is time to unwind with a lunch, included, at a traditional Italian local restaurant. Guests will be taken to experience authentic rustic Italian cuisine.
• Civita di Bagnoregio - Known as “The Dying City,” it originated as an Etruscan village atop a volcanic tuff hill around 2000 years ago. Upon reaching the town’s access area, visitors will encounter a long, narrow bridge that must be crossed on foot to reach Civita. Once inside, they will find themselves in the main square, “la Piazzetta” or “the little square,” where they can admire the cathedral of San Donato and enjoy a stroll through a town devoid of inhabitants.
