Volcano and hot springs - Great little trip out to see the volcano and then bathe in the hot springs. The climb up the volcano was slippy in places as it is mostly shale under foot so would recommend wearing proper footwear eg trainers rather than sandals or sliders. The guide was informative and explained about the formation of the volcanoes and their eruptions. I didn't go in the water but my husband and son did and enjoyed the experience. They said that the water in the springs area was quite shallow and I think the swimming distance depends on where they manage to moor up. Our boat didn't have far to swim. The boat ride was in a traditional looking boat. As with all these boat trips you have to pay for your own entrance to the volcano and to get down to the old port. All in all a lovely way to spend a few hours.

Great excursion at a more than fair price - When you book online you always have a bit of fear since then you have to contact the manager of the business arriving on site. So, staying for one day only in Santorini (I was on a cruise), I wanted to take the opportunity to do this experience which consisted of the tour of the caldera of the volcano with bath in the warm waters and the walk to the top of the highest part of what remains of the "cap" of the volcano itself. I must say that the Welcoming and boarding on the boat was very simple and fast and everything went smoothly delivering before boarding the boat the booking sheet that had been received by email to the managers and consequent printing of the ticket. To swim at the "hot springs" of Nisìs Palaià Kameni you could possibly take advantage of some foam donuts and to go down and up there was a normal ladder. To tell the truth of time to stay in the water was not so much but also because of the line to get off and up but still it was interesting to swim near the shore with a water temperature of 28 degrees after the color was on reddish orange because of sulfur. The climb to the top of the volcano was quiet, with us there was always a very kind guide who explained (in Greek and English) the whole history and creation of the caldera. We had time to climb up to the top (it takes 40 minutes) and despite being under mid-August there was not much heat being there a beautiful breeze. Going down to the pier we changed boats since some of the people continued the excursion to Thirasia while we preferred to return to the old port of Fira and then re-embark on the cruise ship. In short, 3 hours spent relaxing and for the price you pay I think it is more than honest. Just remember that for the entrance to the climb of Nea Kameni you pay 5 euros per person (both cash and card) and it is better to bring a bottle of water because you sweat. Important: put on shoes suitable for climbing and do not do as certain characters who claimed to walk in flip-flops and slippers. Absurd and dangerous. I recommend the itinerary!

Well worth it - A very pleasant experience, a lovely guide, very well organised, everything ok time. The swim in the hot springs came first and then the volcano hike, I think they switch them sometimes to keep everything running on time as there are several boats in operation , probably running different versions of the trip. You pay 5 euro per person at the volcano entrance. It was a great trip, I would definitely recommend it, we had 2 sixteen year old with is and they thoroughly enjoyed it too.

Ask to hike first! - Overall, amazing experience, would highly recommend. However, the tour promised first the trip to the volcano and then swimming. In actuality, it went the other way around, which didn’t make sense. You would want to swim after a hike in the heat and not before

Amazing views, hike to volcano, laid back vibe, highly recommend! - The boat tour was amazing! The guide was friendly and knowledgeable and it felt informative and laid back without being too touristy. The boat was lovely and peaceful. We got to walk up the volcano, feel the warmth of the rocks, ride in the boat with the amazing view, and it was only 3 hours, which we wanted. I even swam in the hot springs, which FYI, were not very warm in early April, lol. It was a great experience! Highly recommend!
