It was a very nice kayak tour, but we hoped to see a bit more of the bioluminescence. The pictures online make it look very luminescent. But overall it was a fun experience.

Cocoa kayaking was an amazing experience. Genevieve was so patient, knowledgeable, funny and laid back. I cant wait to take another trip. It was our first time seeing the comb jellies and mangroves and it was the best time we have had in a long time. Please go, you won't regret it!

We wanted to love this trip, but there was a lot of disorganization, thus a lot of feeling of dissatisfaction by the end. From the time we arrived until the time we left, it seemed like no one understood what was going on. There was no one giving directions, it was more of a free for all. Getting into the kayaks was another disaster. People were pulled from one party and sent with a unknown party because no one organized the littles or the unexperienced kayakers from the get go. A little bit of discussions from the time of registration would have helped to have fixed those issues. Pulling people from one party and moving them with someone else, was a large let down. It seems to me that all the paperwork, payments, etc should have been handled prior to the tour date so the extra person could have been helping to organize the kayak teams, get everyone into their life jackets, etc. Once we got started, it was now dark out, and the commotion started. Being too far away from the guide, we could hear nothing. We had no clue where we were going, and we were watching the kayakers around us struggling trying to figure out how to paddle and keep up. I never feel that we saw the bioluminescence in the water, and it wasn't at all like people in the past had told us it would be. Had we seen it, maybe we would have had a better experience, but all these additional issues, just seem to make the tour a flop. The worst part of the evening, came at the very end. One of the participants in our tour got too close to the tree line and the child panicked and jumped out of the boat, making the adult in the back flip over and into the water. There was no guide anywhere to assist. I don't even think that the guide was aware it even happened, even though someone yelled that we had a man-overboard. Some of our group, with more experienced kayakers actually went over to help everyone get back in their boat. At this point, we went from going in one direction, to completely turned in a different direction and being told to hurry because a boat was coming our way. Not only could I not find a boat, but we still hadn't really done anything but circle an island. Once we got back to the shoreline, I realized why the rush back, because the next tour was there waiting to start! We really want to go on the bioluminescent jellyfish tour, but I can't help but think that maybe it will turn out the same way as this one did - super unorganized, and very lame.
