• Crescent Beach - The next major attraction in the Redwoods is Crescent Beach, and it is hoped that a stop is made here. This isn’t a typical “beach balls and hot dog stands” kind of beach. Instead, it is a wild and rugged coastline with sea stacks, swift currents, and very cold water.
• False Klamath - For those enjoying the exploration of Pacific beaches, there are a couple of stunning beach options approaching that are worth knowing about. This entire area is known as False Klamath Cove.
• Trees of Mystery - A visitor attraction called Trees of Mystery is coming up. While not essential, it offers some interesting features, including a bird’s-eye view of the redwood forest. There is an aerial walkway through the canopy, about 100 feet high, and a gondola ride up a mountainside for some beautiful views.
• Bald Hills Road - Bald Hills Road offers several destinations, including the Lady Bird Johnson Grove, a beautiful stand of old-growth redwoods. Further along, the Redwood Creek Overlook provides incredible views of both old-growth and second-growth forests, and with some luck, a rare California condor might be spotted.
• Lady Bird Johnson Grove - The Lady Bird Johnson Grove is notable not only for its stunning old-growth redwoods but also as the site of two significant ceremonies, including the official dedication of the new Redwoods National Park in 1968.
• Thomas H. Kuchel Visitor Center - The final visitor center in the park is approaching. The Kuchel Visitor Center boasts a beautiful oceanfront location and features several small exhibits about the area’s original inhabitants, including the Yurok, Tolowa, Hupa, and Chilula people.
