The kids and I enjoyed tasting the different varieties of peaches, nectarines, plums, and pluots. We learned a lot about the picking process and loved selecting and picking our own fruit.
We had a wonderful and very knowledgeable guide who patiently explained all the fine points of fruit trees and educated us immensely. Made our whole experience memorable.
The tours were well organized and a great combination of culinary exploration and education. Awesome experience for kids and adults.
Interesting tour and a fun time. Thanks,
Did the fruit tasting at Andy's Orchard and it was great. Very well organized. There were about 80 different types of fruit to taste including peaches, plums, pluots, apricots, and some dried fruit. The we went out in small groups into the orchard where we went to several different types of trees to pick our fruit. The guide picked fruit from the trees we were at to give people tastes in case they missed them or forgot what they tasted like at the tasting part. I got to select a peach that I really liked from the earlier tasting and took a box of them home to make peach pies. Yummy,
Expected a lot more educational information not just pages printed on the desk. Some information on the tour was very good but with so many people it was difficult to hear. We were expecting to get information on how an Orchard starts and then grows and is taken care of.
Our tour guide was very informative knowing about the fruit and the impact of water, pesticides etc.
The tour and tasting was fabulous! I loved the vast and varied offerings of peaches, nectarines, plums and pluots and the little "tasting" notes that accompanied them. Andy led our tour and he was a treasure, full of knowledge and passion, and generous with his time and experience. A wonderful gem of an experience!
very informative and the fruit is beyond good.
I was able to attend 4 Tours/Tastings ... the first one was with someone who had been before & was a great introduction, the second one I went on my own, the third one I attended with 3 other adults [many reflected on past experiences growing up and working in & around orchards], and the final one I attended with a local family who had visited your store, but never been on a tour/tasting ... I am impressed with the organization and knowledge shared ... when I was being checked in this final time, the nice woman said she recognized my face - how sweet ... Thank you for everything you do
More crowded than I expected. Impressed by how many varieties there were to taste.
This event was incredible and I can't wait to go again next year! I learned so much!
What a wonder experience and education. Nice to know about our local growers in his valley.
Andys Orchard is such a gem. Everyone who lives in the Bay Area should come to understand the heritage of this area, and more importantly, to taste the heritage of this area. Taste it through the 20, 30, 40+ varieties of heirloom peaches, plums, apricots, pluots, etc. that they keep alive at this orchard. This is the opposite of a commercial megafarm type orchard where they would have row and row of the same variety. At Andys orchard, each row of trees is a new adventure. The place is magic.
Fun and informational. You can tell everyone who works at Andy's orchard loves what they do and are excited to share it. Will definitely be back .
I loved the fruit and farm!
The tasting & tours at Andy's are well organized and such a nice treat! The price is reasonable, and we really enjoy trying all the different varieties of fruits that you can't find in the grocery store. Thanks for hosting the public at these events!
Hi, I was on the previous week's tour too. This time we brought 4 new people. Everyone loved the adventure and the fruit. thank you, once again!
As always, so many great varieties to try for the tasting, each fruit has a short description of characteristics and origin. I also love the Orchard tour and u-pick, we had a very informative guide on our latest tour.
Andy's fruits are amazing, and the ability to taste so many unusual and delicious varieties at peak ripeness is likely unique. I also love the "harvest walk". The ability to pick fruits from the tree is not so special in itself, but again the fruits are amazing, and the guides are very knowledgeable and interesting. For me it's a 45 minute drive to get to Andy's, but I've come to the tastings at least 4 times now. If I were closer I would even stop by the store to get fruits and vegetables -- there are usually 10 or more varieties of stone fruit (peach, plum, nectarine, of multiple types) as well as excellent tomatoes, cucumbers, melons, and more.
It was a well organized event: many varieties of fruits to taste, no big lines; very informative tours, lots of ripe fruits to pick.
Well organized. Interesting and educational.
The fruit tasting itself was very good. Many samples to taste. I enjoyed the display of the fruit along with some explanation of the variety being tasted.
Although the taste testing was a bit overwhelming because of the number of varieties of fruits, we were able to decide which peaches and nectarines we like best. The tour was very instructive and the tour leader pointed out the fruit trees that we were interested in (after we told him which fruit we liked best) and we were able to pick the fruit we wanted.
Thank you for having these very special events. It is hard work, but we appreciate coming and walking among the beautiful trees and having the pleasure of picking fruit. Thank you very much.
It was well organised, started with a good briefing and overview of the layout of the facility. There were so many varieties that were available to sample, many I have not heard of before. Handouts on Fruit tasting, Safety tips, Organic Farming were helpful. Looking back, I wish that there was an list (either online or on paper) of the varieties that were available for tasting, that way I could keep a record of the Fruit name and how I ranked it for Aroma, Sweetness, Astringency etc. The tour of the orchards also was great. After I had tasted so many fruits, I had compiled a my list of favourites that I wanted more of, but were not available on the orchard tour. Enjoyed the pick-your own at the Event. Improvement to consider, perhaps, a chalk board to list which varieties were available that day. Since Andy's doesn't usually do a pick-your own, this event was something that I really looked forward to.
The fruit tasting was well organized and the fruit was delicious. Had a great time.
Appreciate the tasting and guide, a bit disappointed there was so little fruit available to pick but overall enjoyed the day, thanks.
Excellent day fruit tasting with my adult daughter. The docent was knowledgeable, and the fruit was perfect. I bought way too many pluots and plums, so i will be freezing some. I also loved and bought some beautiful free-form pies and dried apricots.
What a splendid experience! The tasting was educational. The walk and u-picking was fun. The grounds were beautiful.

Awesome learning experience for us!
I love the huge and amazing variety of stone fruits there are to taste.
It was amazing how many different varieties exist, and how differently they tasted. It was a lot of fun tasting and picking. I am recommending this event to all our friends - we look forward to participating again next year.
"Unique" is an over- and oft mis-used adjective, but describes this event to perfection. Where else is it possible to not only find more than 50 varieties of spectacular stone fruits grown to perfection and picked at their peak...and then have to chance to taste each! My daughter and I kept marveling at well the whole thing was organized. Andy's is a regional (and maybe national) treasure.
Andy Mariana graciously provided a rare opportunity for us to become acquainted with his famous and legendary agricultural gem. The event was a treasure trove of regional history, a local close-up example of prime fruit growing agricultural practices and processes all wrapped up in a culinary tasting extravaganza of tree-ripened fruit. It was educational, inspirational, delicious and nutritious. How can you beat that?! Thank you so much.
The tasting was great but the vast majority of what we tasted was not in the orchard. It would be helpful to indicate which fruit is currently available and, for the fruit that is not currently available, when it was in season. That way if there was a particular fruit we liked, we could know when to find it.
We really enjoyed learning about and sampling all the varieties of fruit that you grow! Thank you!
Absolutely fantastic experience. I wish you guys did this more often.
