Great whale watching experience, with knowledgeable staff determined to create a great experience and educate the passengers about the whales.

Capt. Paul was friendly, funny, informative, and took great care to offer a safe and thorough trip. He communicated with the other boats to get us to see humpbacks, stellar sea lions, orcas, and many smaller dolphins, seals auklets, etc. Dr. Kat, the mate, knew a whole lot about all that we were seeing, and shared it with us with great humor and friendly style. The trip lasted longer than scheduled so we could see everything. We ended up doing a circumnavigation of Orcas and Shaw Islands. Even with a full load of 30, the boat had room for all, and offered different places to sit or stand depending on one's preference.
Overall, a first rate experience, and a high value trip with the discount offered by the brochures.

We had a great time. We actually saw the whales and got to spend time looking at them. Dr. Cat was also very knowledgeable.

Very nice boat and friendly staff. We would have enjoyed the trip more if the team provided more education on the environment, geology, and ecosystems we encountered. I would not be looking for non stop lecturing but a PA system on low volume with commentary during quieter times would be goo.

Our captain Steve seemed more interested in talking about himself and all of the boat driving and delivering jobs and his scuba diving and his ‘rubbing elbows with the yaghties’ than paying attention to looking for marine life or trying to find orcas. He evidently assumed that none of us had ever seen a bald eagle as he pointed those out over and over. Paid a lot of money to see bald eagles.

the trip and the staff were good but their business model is bad. there is a standing discount that is in all the ads but I was pressured to book when I arrived and was not given any hint of a discount and there was no explanation of cancellation policy and when I called back for the discount with the code, they refused to give it to me saying it was "too late" though I had not gone on the trip yet.

We are very disappointed with the customer service from Bill and the schedulers. We will, unfortunately, do our best to steer people away from your company in the future.

We were frustrated because we spent all our time watching only 1 pod versus seeking out a variety of species. We spent over 2.5 hours watching or following 1 pod when there were other calls coming in regarding other species in the area. But most of our frustration was because the "naturalist" spent at least 30% of her time looking at her phone versus educating us about whales and other sea life that we were surrounded by. It was such a missed opportunity for educating people about what needs to happen in order to protect these amazing creatures. In addition, in her effort to enforxe the safety rules which I agreed with completely, she was curt, often bordering on rude and over the top. It was what she spent 90% of her to doing...patrolling the boat to tell people what they were doing wrong. This happened even when a parent was delivering the same message to their kid, she would talk over the parent and scold the child for their behavior. It was clear she did not understand or care for children. I was very disappointed in this trip that could have been a very interesting and engaging trip even without seeing more whales.
