Nice tour by well informed guide. Learned about more than music but had a wealth of knowledge
Richard was excellent at pointing out different historical music spots and explaining the back story of each spot. He is very knowledgeable, well prepared, has music picked out to highlight his stories and even provided us a current paper in which he highlighted music acts that he thought we might enjoy. Great tour.
You had to have come to Austin in some part for the music scene. SO, do not miss this intimate experience and walk through the city with a knowledgeable and creative guide. We only had time on this trip for the one hour tour, but at the end we sincerely were begging for more. We will be back for the extended tour...if you have the time book the whole thing-you won't be disappointed.
The hour flew by as we learned and experienced the Austin music scene with our interesting and knowledgeable guide.
Our guide was so fun, informative, nice, and all-round fantastic! We loved the notebook with supplemental photos and info; who knew Willie was so "ordinary looking" before his makeover. I need a new stylist. That notebook must have taken a great deal of time and research, but It was incredibly interesting, and really supplemented the walking tour where we could see where it all happened. The other "above and beyond" feature which made the tour special was playing the music with a portable high quality speaker! That took some effort, as well, and it was much appreciated.
Tour operator, Richard, was knowledgeable and ha stories and fun facts. Very laid back, easy going and perfect for the time aloted.
