The route will continue through the villages of Pedoulas and Prodromos before reaching the renowned Kykkos Monastery, established in the 11th century. As one of the wealthiest monasteries in Cyprus, it contains the esteemed Virgin Mary icon, believed to have been painted by St. Luke. The monastery provides stunning views of the surrounding countryside.
In the vicinity, visitors will explore the Tomb of Archbishop Makarios on Mount Throni (1,318m), which overlooks Kykkos Monastery (1,140m). This final resting place offers breathtaking views of Cyprus and serves as a significant pilgrimage site.
