Muscat-Ibra-Wadi Bani Khalid-Wahiba Sands
Ibra - Departing from Muscat, the journey heads towards Ibra, where the ancient part of the town, approximately 1000 years old, awaits exploration. Constructed from mud and limestone, visitors can stroll through the village, which is not entirely deserted as some residents still live there.
Wadi Bani Khalid - Continuing from Ibra, the trip proceeds to Wadi Bani Khalid, one of Oman’s largest and most stunning wadis. Upon arrival, a brief 10-minute walk (walking shoes recommended) leads to sparkling, clear blue water pools, 9 meters deep, ideal for swimming, sunbathing, and enjoying the picturesque Wadi Canyon.
Wahiba Sands - In the afternoon, the adventure continues to the desert region of Wahiba Sands, also known as Al Sharqiya Sands. This magnificent desert spans 12,500 square kilometers and is named after the Bani Wahiba tribe. It stretches 180 km north to south and 80 km east to west. Visitors can relax at the camp or embark on an exciting 4x4 drive across the sand dunes, culminating in a breathtaking sunset view from one of the towering dunes, followed by dinner at the camp.

Wahiba Sands-Sur-Wadi Shab-Fins Beach-Bimmah Sinkhole-Muscat
Sur - After breakfast at the camp, the journey leaves the desert for Sur. A brief city tour includes a visit to the renowned Omani Dhow Factory, where traditional wooden dhows are crafted, and the historic part of Sur, featuring houses with distinctive wooden doors and windows.
Wadi Shab - The trip then continues to Wadi Shab, a vast canyon gorge adorned with palm trees and showcasing the natural power of mountain waters. A 45-minute hike through the canyon (walking shoes recommended) leads to crystal-clear water pools. Visitors can swim through the warm waters, eventually reaching a final pool with an opening among large rocks, allowing entry into a stunning crevice cave with a small waterfall. Sunlight filtering in turns the water a beautiful turquoise blue as it cascades down one side of the cave.
Fins - From Wadi Shab, a stop at Fins Beach, also known as White Sands Beach, reveals a panorama of striking white sands and a pebbly beach, with sparkling turquoise waters and a gentle, cool breeze.
Bimmah Sinkhole - The next stop is Bimmah Sinkhole, where swimming in the lake is possible. This water-filled depression, a sinkhole in the limestone of eastern Muscat Governorate, features a turquoise lake measuring 50 m by 70 m and approximately 20 m deep. Located 600 m from the sea, between Dibab and Bimmah village, the sinkhole was formed by the collapse of the surface layer due to limestone dissolution. To preserve it, a park has been developed by the local municipality.
The journey concludes with a drive back to Muscat.
