Cusco – Patacancha – Aguas Calientes
Patacancha Valley - Early in the morning, the journey begins to the village of Patacancha, where the Homestay family will guide visitors to the pastures where llamas, alpacas, and sheep graze. Participants will engage in a llama ceremony and learn about the Andean people’s gratitude towards nature. After the ceremony, the group returns to Patacancha to enjoy the traditional Andean Pachamanca dish. The Homestay family will explain the main ingredients and the entire cooking process, allowing everyone to assist. While waiting for the meal to cook for 40 minutes, the family will demonstrate their textile arts, a significant part of their daily life, as they create their own colorful costumes typical of the region. After savoring the Pachamanca meal, the group bids farewell to the family and continues by private transport to the stunning archaeological site of Pumamarka.
Ollantaytambo - The journey continues by car to the village of Ollantaytambo, where visitors explore the archaeological site featuring beautiful terraces, water sources, palaces, and the sacred Huaca, now known as the Sun Temple. This village held great importance during the Inca era. In the evening, the group boards the tourist train to Aguas Calientes, where they will spend the night in a hotel.

Machu Picchu - Departing from the hotel, the group takes a bus to the City of the Incas, renowned for its Inca architecture, agricultural terraces, neighborhoods, squares, streets, and an astronomical observatory. Built on the mountain slopes amidst nature, it is considered one of the modern world’s wonders. UNESCO has recognized it as part of the common Natural and Cultural Heritage of Mankind, as it was a significant religious, political, and administrative center during the Inca era. Situated at an altitude of about 2450 meters, after exploring this magical city, visitors may choose to explore Huayna Picchu mountain. From its summit, there is a breathtaking view of the entire City of Machu Picchu. It is recommended to make reservations months in advance to include Huayna Picchu. The group will return to Aguas Calientes to catch the train back to Ollantaytambo or Poroy, where staff will be waiting to transport them back to their hotel in Cusco or the Sacred Valley.
