CUSCO – SOCMA VILLAGE – PEROLNIYOC INCAN RUINS – CHANCACHUCO
Perolniyoq Waterfall - The journey begins early in the morning as the group heads to Soqma Village, the starting point for the hike. The trail leads up a small valley to Perolniyoq, an Incan site perched atop a mountain. Before reaching the site, there is a beautiful waterfall where the Tour Guide will provide historical insights. After lunch, the hike continues for about 2 hours to the first pass, Kuichicasa, offering breathtaking views of the Urubamba range with its snowcapped peaks and the Sacred Valley of the Incas below.
CHANCACHUCO – ANCASCOCHA LAGOON
Perolniyoq Waterfall - A hearty breakfast at 6:00 am sets the stage for an adventurous day. The hike begins on a highland plain with spectacular views, leading to the lunch spot in the Ancascocha community after about 3 hours. Post-lunch, the group hikes for another 2 hours to reach the second campsite at 14,432 ft, near the Ancascocha lagoon.
ANCASCOCHA LAGOON – PAUCARCANCHA
Inca Trail - The day starts with a nutritious breakfast at 6:00 am, followed by a trek along a switchback trail to the highest point, offering stunning views in all directions, including snow-capped mountains. After a 2-hour hike, the group reaches Wayanay pass at 15,252 ft, the highest point on the trail, with breathtaking vistas. In the afternoon, after enjoying a meal, the trek continues through the highlands of Paucarcancha for another 2 hours, along the ancient Inca trail connecting Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley, with magnificent glacier peaks in the distance.
PAUCARCANCHA – KM 82 – OLLANTAYTAMBO – AGUAS CALIENTES
Inca Trail - An early breakfast fuels the hike down to km 82, a section of the Classic Inca Trail. Along the way, the group visits Llaqtapata, a stunning Incan ruin nestled in the Sacred Valley, surrounded by impressive crop terraces, and other small Inca ruins. After a 5-hour hike, the group arrives at km 82 for the final lunch prepared by the chef, and bids farewell to the horses, muleteers, and chefs. A 45-minute drive to Ollantaytambo town follows, where a train ride to Machu Picchu Town takes about 1 hour and 45 minutes.
TOUR IN MACHU PICCHU – RETURN TO CUSCO
Machu Picchu - The tour begins at 4:30 am with breakfast at the hotel, followed by a bus ride to Machu Picchu, lasting 30 minutes. Inside the ruins, a 2-hour guided tour covers all the significant sites. After the tour, there are 3 hours for personal exploration. By midday, the group departs the ruins to return to Aguas Calientes. The journey back to Cusco includes a train ride to Ollantaytambo and a bus ride to Cusco.
