Good selection of places and very helpful tour.
Tully took us to many beautiful spots for sunset tour, highly recommended!
Our son is an avid photographer. We did this tour for him. It was very good. Our guide knew what he was doing and new where and how to get the great shots. He was very helpful and kind to our son and taught him a lot. We had been to Monument Valley before so wanted to do something different and special this time. This tour delivered. It was great.
Great guide, very knowledgeable and took us to places average visitors can't access.
Great tour, beautiful locations for photography. We went on the Sunset tour in Mystery Valley and it was so quiet, we felt as we were alone in this gigantic space. We were only 4 and it was great to be away from the crowds of Momument Valley. Our guide was very nice and he gave us good cues of were the view was best. I would certainly recommend Phillips' Photography Tours.
I had a great time there so much to see ,the guide was great and I got some good photos. I will make a plan to come back as i was told we could go to other spots to photograph. Thanks for everything Rick Edelen
Great Mystry valley locations which is not possible to go without guided tours. My guide Carlos was an excellent giy
Carl Phillips has a good understanding of photography as well as an intimate knowledge of the park. A winning combination.
Perfectly organized - fast feedback after booking, reminder emails...the best was our guide "Tully" he knows all the best spots and did an excellent job. For me it was the second tour with him - just double his salary !! Thanks and best regards, Werner and Reiner
For anyone thinking about going to photograph monument valley I would highly recommend that you use Phillips tour My guide was Ray and he was incredible. He took you to the best spots but also took you to areas most folks will never see If you want a great experience than book the tour and ask for RAy I will be back and will use them again Ed
Carl knows the Valley like the back of his hand. Even though the weather wasn't ideal he made this a most enjoyable experience. Being a photographer , Carl is perfect for anyone with the desire to shoot in Monument Valley. He was very accommodating and knew where to follow the appropriate light regardless of conditions. I plan on taking the Mystery Valley tour the next time I visit.
It was a great experience seeing parts of Monument Valley that I had never seen before. Our guide was terrific. I can highly recommend this tour to any photographer wanting to get photos of this magical area that other people never get to see.
I had never been to Monument Valley before, but our guide, Ray, selected some locations to shoot which were fabulous. I got a variety of photos under great some great light conditions in the late afternoon thru sunset period, including the Totems. I would love to take another tour with this company in the future! Ray was a very knowledgeable and pleasant guide.
Ray was awesome. He took us to great spots and was very informative about what to look for. He had me worried at first when we seemed to drive past what looked like many great locations without stopping but it all turned out great in the end. The fact we lucked into going to the Mittens for the shadow was particularly spectacular. And I appreciated that he got up early to take us on an abbreviated star shoot before the start of the sunrise tour. He went above and beyond.
This is the second time I have used Phillip's Photography Tours and I would certainly use them again. Phillip's guides are photographer so they know exactly what a photographer is looking for at Monument Valley. Our guild was Ray, and he is outstanding. The tour was worth every dollar.
The first word that comes to mind is simply.....WOW! You have some ideas of what your photo tour will be like from descriptions they give on the Phillips Photography Tours Website and I had emails back and forth with Carl Phillips directly. I also at the last minute asked if I could push back our start time by an hour. They said, "absolutely, not a problem". We met them just as planned at the lobby of the fantastic hotel, The View Hotel which is ideally located right inside The Tribal Park entrance. In arguably one of the premiere overlooks in the entire world, that's of course my humble opinion. We were paired up with Ray Phillips who of course is part of the Phillips Family. Ray epitomizes the quintessential Professional Guide one would come to expect from a world class venue and unforgettable destination. Ray offers a unique blend of Tour Guide, Navajo Culture Historian, and is fine Photographer in his own right. Ray offered insight into his own family's history and his wife's as well and the history of their individual "Clans" also. This added that personalized touch and allowed us to really get to know Ray and he us. Our initial meeting in the lobby I showed Ray a photograph, of well a photograph by another photographer of Monument Valley to give him an idea of the type of shot I was really most interested in getting. Ray looked at that photograph, smiled, nodded, and said,"ok, no problem". Did he deliver. I would swear we may have been within 100 yards of where that original photographer might have been standing many, many years before. Taking the same type of image I was after. Ray's understanding as a photographer, his endless knowledge of composition and light is mind blowing. Impressed does not come close to defining it all. Ray can take a photograph with a cell phone as a quick example that many photographers would be envious of. Ray was generous with his time and respected our own schedule as well. This guy knows exactly where to be on any day of the year, anytime of the day. Inside the entire Monument to capture your dream image. I will seek out Ray Phillips and Phillips Photography Tours until I can no longer raise my camera up and click that shutter. These guys have made a customer for life. I'll be back in the near future to capture some Summer storms shot. And I can't wait for that day to arrive.
Fascinating your. Thule was a great guide. Sunrise and sunsets were beautiful. We got to see views that we could never have found on our own
Excellent personal tour. Private tour - just us; air conditioned Suburban vehicle, knowledgeable and fun tour guide (Ray) - knows the geography, history, and photography. Would go again, and would never go with any other tour company in the area. Thanks Ray!
Tuli was an excellent guide, the place was fantastic, the pictures we were able to take were magnificent. Thank you so much.
Ray did a great job. We enjoyed the trip quite a lot. I have already recommended this tour to several of my friends. When we come back we will use them again. Well done.
