Pete our guide gave us lots of information, took us to some really beautiful places, not usually accesible. Pete sang the bear song, which moved me. Highly recommended!

We were lucky to have a personal tour with our guide Joseph who was a fantastic host. He took time and effort to show us around without any rush or hurry. He kept up a steady commentary and was happy to answer questions about the Navajo culture and Monument Valley.

Our guide Harry Nez was great; very informative & easy to talk to. He was also a super skilled & talented photographer & gave my husband many tips.Harry began the trip by showing us a brilliant photo of a horse he had taken the night before. He used a microphone in the jeep which was great as my husband is hard of hearing. The tour encompassed major Monument valley landmarks such as the Ear if the Wind' , stop to see ancient art in the form of petroglyphs carved into the rock face . He would have played his flute for us but it was too windy for good accoustics that day & we were sorry we missed it. There was also a visit to a Hogan where a the lovely Elvina demonstrated weaving techniques & did our daughters hair by wrapping it in wool in the Navajo way. As we drove away from her Hogan , Harry pointed out the tree under which she and her sisters had been born & told us a little about the birthing custom. He also whilst we driving along, stopped to pick up the lid of a water container & returned it to the Hogan - making the point that carrying water into monument valley is an important part of Navajo daily life. We also saw wild horses making their way back from a spring where they had been drinking & a family tendingtheir cattle. Harry also stopped at a couple of places where we could buy reasonably priced Navajo jewelry & art. At the second of these, we paid 5 dollars for my daughter to have her photo taken on a horse at John Ford point. We took some photos but also gave our camera to the horse,'s owner who took an amazing photo for us. All in all it was a super trip and highly enjoyable . Thoroughly recommended. Thanks
