Kayaking on Lake Rotoiti - Loved the day we spent kayaking on Lake Rotoiti. Our guides were outstanding, dividing us quickly into 4 small groups. We paddled for 6.3 miles round trip on this beautiful lake. The glow worm cave was small but interesting. Seemed very personalized and we asked many questions. Local meat pies were served for lunch and we spent time soaking in the thermal hot pools before returning to shore. Our guide Aaron was excellent. He told us Māori origin stories about the worms and we learned many cool facts. It was a great day and we highly recommend this tour in Rotorua!

It got a bit windy and... - It got a bit windy and choppy so we got a little wetter than anticipated. The hot pools are worth the work to get there. Hot and warm and you can plunge in the lake to cool off.

Wonderful and memorable way to see the true beauty of New Zealand - We had a gorgeous day on the lake with our cruise ship excursion. The lake was still with dozens of black swans were on the lake. The glow worm caves were fascinating and the lunch at the thermal pools was a welcome break. This tour company provides a fun and unique perspective of New Zealand. It is an activity that I highly recommend. It provides for a memorable day. If you can negotiate single kayaks instead of double, it will be better for your marriage and/or friendship. It is a long paddle and not all of the pairs wanted to sit on the same side of the bus as their partner on the way back. A kind, well-intended request to the tour company, please update or better maintain your composting toilets and changing rooms. Thanks.

Waimarino Glow Worms via Kayaking - The website instructions were vague. The only clothing storage area was inside the bus. It took about 1 hour to paddle and reach the lake cave. 5 kayaks were crammed into the tight cave to view about a dozen glow worms. It took another hour of paddling to have lunch on the opposite side of the lake. No running water and pit toilets with insects flying around. Minimal lunch was good but no time to soak in man made hot tubs. It took another hour to paddle back to base on the opposite side of the lake again. There was minimal running fresh water with soap and the changing area wasn’t very clean. The next day we found many cheaper, less stressful, vendors via boat or hiking to view glow worms not offered by Princess Cruises.

Cancelled without telling me - Cancelled but didn’t bother to tell me. I called them while I waiting at the meeting spot wondering why there was no one there. Wasted my whole day

Not for cruisers! - We had to cancel because the pick-up and drop- off point was a 45 min drive from the cruise port. There was no way to reasonably arrange transportation to/from the ship and still have time for the activity. Otherwise, we had very much hoped to do this.
