Three Bells of Fira - The Three Bells of Fira, also known as The Catholic Church of the Dormition, is a Greek Catholic church located on the Greek island of Santorini. The church is famous for its blue dome, three bells, and panoramic views. The structure is located in Fira, immediately above the cliffs that dominate western Santorini. The current Three Bells of Fira have been replaced by a multitude of different structures. Two tiny cave churches were constructed into the then-solid rock face in the mid-17th century. As the cliff retreated and an infirmary was erected, these chapels were finally demolished. This structure was eventually occupied by Jesuits, who stayed on the property until it was donated to the Diocese of Santorini. The current church was erected in 1757 and has since been renovated and extended several times. The structure was severely damaged in the 1956 Amorgos earthquake, and it was later repaired.
