Blue Hole features a series of natural limestone pools, essentially water-filled sinkholes, located in a secluded area renowned for its stunning waterfalls. The Cool Blue Hole is named for the striking brightness of its water—a captivating blue hue.

OUR STORY BEGINS with the opening of Rick’s Cafe by its founder, Richard Hershman, in April 1974. At that time, Negril was a quiet fishing village with little development, lacking many modern amenities such as electricity, telephone, and hot running water. Our charming cliffside location was originally owned by a local doctor, the son of the first Governor General of independent Jamaica.

RICK’S CAFE was the first public bar and restaurant of its kind on the West End Cliffs, offering an alternative to Negril’s majestic seven-mile beach. From the start, Rick’s Cafe boasted an unrivaled view of the sunset from its naturally formed cliffs. Over the years, both visitors and locals have made Rick’s Cafe Negril’s premier gathering spot, and our sunsets have become a Jamaican tradition.

Next, visit Blue Hole Falls, a hidden treasure that enchants visitors with its azure waters. It offers a thrilling adventure: swim in the pools, try cliff-jumping, swing from ropes into the water, explore a cave, and take a 10-minute hike to the Secret Falls. Facilities include bathrooms and changing rooms, with lockers and lifejackets available for rent.

Day 2: Experience Lethe River Bamboo Rafting and enjoy a sunset tour at Rick’s Cafe.
