Chocolate and Mezcal in Oaxaca - We really enjoyed this experience. It was in a small group and we got to learn a lot about the various chocolate types that are found in the Oaxaca region and how they make the cocoa into hot chocolate and into chocolate bars. We were also able to get a little tasting of some small batch mezcals which was a real bonus.

Holiday highlight - My wife loves cacao and was the main reason I went on this trip although I went with an open mind. It far far exceeded my expectations. The venue is lovely and our experience was conducted by Diego who I think was one of the owners. His English was excellent. He was very knowledgeable about the history and all aspects of cacao production and answered all questions gladly. We had a great experience and my wife bought a cup to use for ceremonies back in the UK.

Fun and delicious - This was a great activity for us, especially since two of us have very limited mobility. The two hours we spent learning and experiencing the smells and tastes of different varieties of cacao were a delight.

A Must for Chocolate Lovers! - My husband and I had about 3 hours of free time on our G Adventures trip so we signed up for the complete chocolate experience the previous day. Our experience began at 2 pm on Jan. 3. The location was a bit difficult to find, as it was set back from the main road. Luckily, there were 4 others doing a chocolate bar making experience at 2 pm so we worked together to find the place. We receive an introduction to cacao and tasted cacao powder, cacao nibs, and then mini chocolate bars, before toasting, peeling, and gridding our our cacao beans for our chocolate drink, which we had at the end with a snack. We were given the rest of our cacao bean drink mix to take away, and I just got done having some now that I'm back home.

Chocolate Experience Oaxaca - We had an amazing cacao and chocolate experience at Chima in Oaxaca. Ingrid was great! She was very informative knowledgeable, gracious and engaging. She took us through the entire process from cultivation to processing. We then roasted the beans, ground them with sugar and made our own blends for hot chocolate. Highly recommend the experience.

Cacoa tutorial - It was pleasant and informational. The location is set up well. And the staff were very pleasant. A bit expensive for the experience, particularly as your apt to buy something while you’re there.
