San Bartolo Coyotepec - Known worldwide as the birthplace of black clay, San Bartolo Coyotepec is one of Oaxaca’s most iconic artisan expressions. During the visit, family workshops will be explored, where artisans will explain the entire process: from clay extraction and hand modeling to polishing and firing, which gives the pieces their distinctive glossy or matte black finish.

San Martin Tilcajete - This stop includes a visit to the workshop of master craftsman David Hernández, where the complete process of creating alebrijes will be observed firsthand: from wood carving to the meticulous hand painting that transforms each piece into a unique masterpiece.
The most renowned alebrijes, which hold great significance for this community, begin as simple pieces of wood and are transformed into mythical creatures full of color, symbolism, and creativity, regarded as true masterpieces unique to the world.
- Ocotlan de Morelos - A visit to the famous mural by maestro Rodolfo Morales, one of Oaxaca’s most important artists and a native of this town, is included. The artwork represents the life, traditions, and essence of the Oaxacan community, depicted through its vibrant and dreamlike style, becoming a cultural symbol of Ocotlán.
- Santo Tomás Jalieza - An ancient technique, the backstrap loom, one of Mexico’s oldest forms of weaving, will be explored. Here, craftswomen work entirely by hand, using their bodies as part of the loom, requiring great skill, patience, and precision.
During the visit, the weaving process, the meanings of the designs and colors, and how this technique has been passed down through generations, remaining vibrant to this day, will be learned.
