Definitely worth it! The... - Definitely worth it! The history is fantastic and the views are spectacular. There are a lot of high uneven steps to see the best views, so dress appropriately! I'd recommend the morning, because it gets hot in the afternoon...dress in layers for a cool morning and warmer late morning.

Informative and interesting tour to Monte Albán - Excellent tour of Monte Albán and tour guide was also excellent. I went to Monte Albán first for this archeological site and then visited the museo de culturales at Santo Domingo to see the contents of the excavations . I would recommend this tour.

Fantastic Guide! - Miguel was so knowledgeable and passionate about the Monte Alban site and Zapotec history. he was interesting and charming as he shared the story of the place with us. It is a stunning spot, not to be missed if you visit Oaxaca. To really see it, be prepared to climb the steep steps up to the top of the temples...wear sturdy shoes

Great tour and great guide! - Awesome tour. Beautiful mountain setting and amazing ruins. Best part though was our guide Miguel. He was incredibly knowledgeable and he used fluent English that was easy to understand. He went beyond just describing the facts known about the ruins, tying them to the surrounding cultures and historical periods as well as to oaxacan life today. Definitely one of the best tour guides I've had.

Monte Albán is wonderful - We traveled by van to the site, meeting in the center of Oaxaca, we met our guide Michel at the site. Even though we arrived at the time it opened our guide spent much of the time talking outside the site, then at the beginning of the site. Some of his discussions were interesting but some very off target, all lengthy. We left the tour and read the information plaques next to the structures as he left very little time to actually view the full site and museum.
