Highly recommend! Supportive & knowledgeable guide - The site is spectacular - like nowhere else in the world. It was fun to swim in the (cold!) natural mineral water pools. More importantly, our guide, Paul, was wonderful: He was very solicitous and helpful to members of our group who worried that the hike might be too strenuous. (It IS fairly strenuous - wear good hiking shoes! -but they provide hiking poles, which are helpful.). Also, Paul has a deep knowledge of the area, the unusual trees and agave plants, and the indigenous people’s system for making mezcal - and his English is perfect.

Loved it! - We had a great visit to the Hierve el Agua with Paul! We loved the extra hiking and extended time at the falls. Local information was very helpful and informative. Super tour!

Beauty in the Mountains - Excellent tour with Paul. Leaving early to beat the crowds and heat is well worth the early start!! The hike delivers breathtaking views of the falls, mountains and springs.
Our local guide, Miguel was highly knowledgeable and explained about the various agaves and how the falls and pools are formed. For English only speakers, Paul’s English translation was excellent.
Paul provided hiking poles, which was much appreciated by me, a 64 year old woman with arthritis.
We had time to swim and cool off in the pools and to have lunch before returning to the city.
There were 12 on the tour and the van was very comfortable.
There was no rushing, it was a relaxed pace.
One of the best things to do while visiting Oaxaca.

A must do! - This entire experience was amazing and highly recommend. Paul was an amazing guide, and the entire experience was informative, well paced and truly unique. Bring your sneakers, sunscreen, a hat and a water bottle for the hike down and up the waterfall and bring your bathing suit and a towel for the pools (although the water is extremely cold). There are bathrooms and changing rooms for the pools, and the entire drive to and from the waterfall is about 1.5 hours each way. Cannot recommend the experience enough!

Beautiful! - This is really worth the trip! And it is nice to travel early to get a head start. The guide was really good and took good care of everybody. The "waterfall" was impressive and unique. A really cool spot!

What a special experience! - For us, this early morning excursion was perfect! The ride was very entertaining with views of the mountains/nature all around and the (English) explanations from Paul. There were not many visitors when we descended from the area to the foot of the “waterfall” with another guide, in between photo stops and explanations of plants etc. Then ascent, which due to the unfamiliar height repeatedly forced breaks, but was well doable (we are 66 and 75 J) I took the opportunity to swim! Refreshing, but despite the wind a special experience. Changing rooms there. Afterwards possibility to eat and again exchange and tips from the guide Paul and the fellow travelers (our group was 7 people) Definitely a sacred place for the locals, but also a special place, for people with love of nature!

Luis our guide was excellent - Enjoyed the tour. Avoided all the tourist trap locations and Luis our guide was excellent and gave us lots of local info about Oaxaca and also some great restaurant and bar recommendations. The hike was very chill.
Got back into town at about 1:45pm which was perfect.

Great way to Hierve de Agua - The park is enormous, but the area around the waterfall is concentrated and easy to experience. There are many stairs. Photos don't do it justice; this us absolutely worth seeing. You don't need to swim (my partner did). We came early on a weekday, and it was quiet and uncrowded.
Our ticket included entrance fee and a guide. Luis, our driver and guide, was terrific. He engaged a guide in the park who told us about Hierve de Agua, plants, etc. (In Spanish). During the trip, Luis talked to us about Oaxaca State, the folks who live here, the history, mezcal, etc. Highy recommend this trip and Luis!

A lovely day with a walk and a swim - This was a great trip that took us straight to Hierve el Agua and after a short hike we were ready to cool off in the pools (very refreshing). The pools and views are just stunning! Then we stopped for a lunch at local restaurant before heading back. Overall, a great half-day trip!

An absolute must! - On a whim, my wife and I decided to check out the half-day tour to Hierve el Agua, and could not have been happier! Our guide, Paul, was super-knowledgeable and we felt very safe in his care. The mountain and canyon views were nothing short of spectacular and warm mineral pools did wonders for my aches LOL.
After a leisurely and informative tour of the area, we had a delicious lunch before heading back to Oaxaca. About 15 minutes after being dropped off, I realized I left something behind. Paul did not hesitate to come back and drop it off for me, thanks again Paul!
