Highlights
- 150 Kapahulu Ave - Check In will be 30 minutes before activity start time. When checking in you’ll fill out our waiver forms. After filling out the form you will then change into your surfing gears. We will provide the water shoes and water shirt for the lesson at no additional cost, if you don’t have one.
Semi Private lesson includes safety presentation at the start of the activity time. Where we explain with a visual presentation of water safety, water etiquettes, paddling techniques, proper positions and other proven surfing techniques.
Then will go to the beach to do land and water demonstration. During your surf lesson our professional surf coach will teach you some applied theory about surfing. The surf lesson will be adapted to the skill level of the students. No surfing experience necessary.

Surfing was a blast!! - The instructor was awesome and loved teaching the boys. Had a blast and the pictures and video package was great.

Awesome!! Ask for Charlie! - Charlie, our instructor was great!! My 12 year old daughter and I went out with Charlie for our first time and caught lots of waves! He’s a real expert at reading the surf and helping us navigate the other beginners surrounding us. He quickly gauged our potential and took us where we could ride long waves.

Best Place to Learn Surfing - Waikiki is one of the best and safest place to learn surfing. My two teen girls stood up on their board within two tries and we all did about 8-10 solid surfs each within the 1.5 h in the water. Their location on the far end of Kuhio Beach is less crowded especially at 8am in the morning. Opted for the photo/video package for our family and the drone footage is PRO!

An enjoyable surf experience - One of our favorite activities done in Hawaii was surfing!!! Niko was our surf guide and he was the best!! Being our first time taking a surf lesson, he made everything comfortable and took the fear out of it! Highly recommend doing either private or semi-private for your first time to have the one on one experience!

Best activity on Waikiki Beach! - This was my kids’ favorite activity on Waikiki beach! Tyson, Grant and Keawe were awesome instructors. My 11 year old and 8 year old both picked up surfing extremely quick with their guidance. I (Mom) even got in on the fun. What an exhilarating experience! I can’t recommend this surf school enough. And be sure to get the photo/ video package so you will be able to see yourself in action! Well worth the money.

Hans Hedemann Surf School Is An Absolute Must Have for Anyone’s Hawaii Vacation!!! - Surfing lessons with Hans Hedemann made our whole trip worthwhile. And that is saying a lot because we love Hawaii. But, when you come home from a trip like this, it’s the memories and mementos that matter. Hans Hedemann absolutely gets that! We signed up our three daughters and they got Ric Araujo as their surf instructor. He is amazing. It is obvious that his only focus is making sure that his students have a fantastic time and make fantastic memories. We bought the photography package with still shots and drone video. UNBELIEVABLE! The combination of Ric’s selfless dedication to his students and the fantastic photography Andrew video make for a literal MUST do when you visit Hawaii!!! This will be one of our activities every time we come to Oahu from now on!

Great day out surfing! - Charles and Gabe were awesome with our 3 boys. They taught them and then let them go without babysitting them, but were there for the boys when they needed to be.
The location was great too, just up from all the hustle and bustle of Waikiki, meaning they had plenty of space to learn, waves to ride and fall from. They also gave the boys some tips on how to get better and improve when out on their own.
We also purchased the photos package. We now have a huge selection of photos and videos to remember the day by.

Great first timer lesson for dad and teen! - My 16 year old daughter and I (49 year old dad) had a great 2-hour afternoon lesson for the 2 of us. The waves weren’t super big today, but plenty for us first time surfers. We both got up a bunch of times and had tons of fun. Our instructor could not have been nicer (thanks Reeyan!) and we enjoyed floating and hanging out almost as much as riding:) Be prepared for an arm workout and a little prior snowboarding or skateboarding probably helps. The large boards were very stable and the water is super-WARM (well - we usually swim in Maine)! Highly recommend it!

Great time! - Had a great time learning to surf. Two hours may not seem like much - but for a first time, it was plenty. Got to ride many waves. Also got great tips & coaching along the way that enabled me to fix things to make the experience even better.
