Leonard’s presents eight varieties of malasadas, from the classic sugar-coated to custard-filled options with flavors like haupia (coconut), guava, and macadamia nut.

Though there might be a line, it moves quickly, so don’t be discouraged.

• Moanalua Gardens - This 24-acre garden is rich in history. Originally located elsewhere, Moanalua Gardens dates back over a century!

When relocated, structures from the original site were preserved and moved to the current gardens.

Open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the gardens charge $10 for non-resident adults and $7 for children aged 6-12.

• Green World Coffee Farm - Need a caffeine boost? Visit Green World Coffee. This cafe offers a variety of coffees sourced from different Hawaiian farms.

Enjoy free samples of coffee, tea, and chocolate, and take a complimentary tour of their coffee farm.

Open Monday - Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday - Sunday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Their specialty is chocolate haupia, but they also offer strawberry guava, blueberry, and pineapple macadamia nut pies.

If you’re hungry for more, Ted’s also serves burgers, plate lunches, and sandwiches.

• Kawela Bay - Park at Kahuku Fruit Stand and cross the street to find a path leading to Kawela Bay, a scenic beach with banyan trees, soft sand, and turquoise waters.
• Famous Kahuku Shrimp - A humble food truck offering a variety of shrimp and local seafood, either fried or steamed.
• Laie Hawaii Temple & Visitors’ Center - As we head to the next stop, drive by La’ie Temple.

No need to exit the car; listen to the story of this site, designed after King Solomon’s temple from the Bible.

With its gleaming white finish, the temple is known as the “Taj Mahal of the Pacific.”

The visitor center offers clean restrooms for a quick stop.
