Aloha, Hawaii Five-0!

As a family travel writer, I’m always on the lookout for unique experiences that can be enjoyed by both parents and kids alike. So, when I heard about the Hawaii Five-0 Tour that promised exclusive access to McGarrett’s House and a meet-and-greet with a cast member, I knew it was a must-do for our family trip to Oahu. The highlight of the tour was undoubtedly the visit to Steve McGarrett’s house. As we approached the house, the excitement was palpable. We were given the rare opportunity to step inside and explore the iconic setting. The kids were thrilled to sit in Steve’s chair by the sea, and of course, we snapped plenty of photos to capture the moment. It was surreal to be in a place that we had only seen on screen, and it felt like we were part of the show.

Meeting Shawn “Cousin Flippa” Mokuahi Garnett was another memorable moment. He was warm and welcoming, sharing stories from the set and answering our questions with enthusiasm. It was a treat for the kids to meet someone from the show, and they were starstruck! The gourmet lunch served at McGarrett’s was delicious, and we enjoyed it while soaking in the stunning views of the ocean.

A Family Adventure to Remember

Despite the slight awkwardness with our guide, Amy, the tour was a fantastic experience for our family. It was a perfect blend of adventure, learning, and fun, making it an ideal activity for families visiting Oahu. The kids loved the interactive elements, and my husband and I appreciated the behind-the-scenes insights into one of our favorite shows.
