Worth a half day visit - You need a car to get here, and the parking isn't cheap. But it is a worthwhile experience. The building was originally a school and is beautifully made. We managed to get on a docent-led short overview tour at 11:30 a.m., which was helpful. Incredible history. I enjoyed the special room laying out the whole Hawaiian Royal family tree.

Exploring never ends! - WORTH IT! So many cool things to se and read about. It was one of the best museums I've ever visited. 10/10!! Be sure to make time to visit all 3 buildings. This is not a quick tour.

Amazing amount of history here! Must see! - Amazing amount of history here! We really enjoyed this beautiful museum. There are plenty of ancient artifacts in excellent condition. We also enjoyed the planetarium show about navigation and the hokule’a double hulled canoe. The science building was also a nice display, geared to the keiki (although I enjoyed myself). Could spend an enormous amount of time here learning! Highly recommend! *There is a small cafe on site with limited options.

Very good Polynesian museum. - It was 40 mins bus ride from Waikiki to get to the museum. When we got there the staff were very friendly and we loved our time here. A lot to see and do here.

Good historic perspective. Needs refreshing. - Nice introduction to Hawaii history, and a lovely look at a building being purpose- built for this museum in the early 1900’s. The price of parking, however, was ridiculous. There’s no reason for an additional fee of $17.00 on top of the museum admission fee. No interactive exhibits. The museum has a sort of archaic feel to it regarding presentation.

Disorganized and difficult to navigate - I think I would have liked this sprawling, disorganized museum complex more if the collections were better organized and had better wayfinding signage. It was really annoying to repeatedly go from one floor to another and then discover that the reason why the exhibits on the next floor were so confusing was because I was walking through them in the wrong sequence. There needs to be a map or signage showing a recommended path with the correct sequence for walking through the exhibits in chronological or logical order. To be fair, most of the exhibits on Hawaii's history were quite good, especially the exhibits covering the history of the Hawaiian Kingdom and its subsequent takeover by the United States. I felt that the relatively small art exhibitions were more annoying than interesting. This place is a textbook example of why many large cities try to establish entirely separate art museums and avoid mixing natural history, human history, science, and art in the same multipurpose museum complex! In theory it sounds nice to be able to see so many different things at once in one place, but in reality such museums tend to be confusing and unfocused.

Refuses your refund requests - The museum was great, viator is a terrible company that refused to let us refund. Buyer beware just get your tickets there instead of going with this borderline scam of a company
