A must for a visit to Napier - We did the 2pm tour with John as our guide and he was excellent — we couldn’t have asked for better. He shared fascinating information about the city and its buildings, and took us inside the theatre and the bank, allowing plenty of time for questions. He explained the history behind different parts of the buildings and how the city has evolved over time. The time passed quickly and it was an easy, enjoyable walk. Great value for money — we’d be very happy to recommend this tour.

Delightful and insightful tour - Great introduction to the wonderful architecture - Art Deco, Spanish Mission, and other styles - of Napier created in the reconstruction after the terrible earthquake of 1931. Chris from the Art Deco Trust was an outstanding guide.

Enjoyable and informative Art Deco walk in Napier. - Very informative walk and talk by volunteer Chris, who really knew hi stuff. He took us to all the major examples of Art Deco architecture in the town centre.

A great Art Deco walking tour - Very informative local guide who clearly explained the 4 different styles of art deco. The group was an ideal size, not too large. Snippets of family and local information made it particularly interesting. Access to the inside of a couple of buildings was good. Would highly recommend.

Great Afternoon in Napier - Great couple of hours with Judy, our guide. Really enjoyed walking around Napier and learning about the various art deco styles and their architects. Judy was very knowledgeable and entertaining. Would definitely recommend it.

Interesting- learnt heaps - Informative tour / as a Kiwi I learnt heaps about the Napier earthquake and fire along with art deco architecture. Guide was passionate and took us into buildings that you couldn’t get into by yourself or even know what was inside - well worth it.

Napier art deco tour - an excellent way to spend a couple of hours in a beautiful town. - Our walking tour with Janet was excellent. We learned a great deal about Napier’s history and Janet was adept at communicating lots of interesting information in a friendly and engaging way. The only downside was that some interiors could not be visited as it was Saturday. Nevertheless, a great experience which we would wholeheartedly recommend. The Earthquake gallery in Napier Museum is a superb complement to the tour and well worth a visit.

Beautiful town but not great tour. - A beautiful little town. Our guide, although very experienced appeared uncertain at times and difficult to hear. We did feel that we would have got more out of the tour with a different guide. We could have taken a self-guided tour with better effect.
