There was no trip, never arrived tickets and non-existent train - Terrible, no one has ever responded to my requests and at the station there was no train going to her, scam!

Sold us useless, overpriced tickets - There was a cyclone and landslide in November making Kandy to Ella tickets non viable. We bought some from Viator..grossly overpriced in January when they were unusable. Couldn’t even use them further down the line as not recognised as a proper ticket. Do not use Viator for anything - too disappointing.

Tour cancelled without I got notified! - The trip was cancelled without me being told! No response from the local tour operator, and Viator’s customer service could not get the local tour guide either. Never book through Viator again!

TRAINS NOT RUNNING. - Trains are not running into or out of Kandy for the foreseeable future. I have requested a refund but not heard anything for several days. I wasn't warned about the non-existent train service before I got to the station on the day of travel DO NOT BUY THESE TICKETS !

Incompetent ticket service - There was no experience because Viator sold me tickets for non existing travel! Completely not understandable behaviour taking into consideration the November cyclones and damage done to the railway track on the given route . Hope Viator will give me money back!

Rogue organization - Bought 4 tickets from €22,00 for the train trip from Kandy to Ella in Srilanka and we were told at the station that they are not valid. I'm trying to get the money back right now but there's no way viator can be reached. The email I sent comes back undelivered and it is not possible to contact customer service. They're just crooks, so don't fall for it. You can buy a ticket at the station for € 0.30.

Don't buy tickets here! - No advance notice that the train doesn't even run from Kandy due to the damage (it currently only departs from Ambewela). At the station, we checked if our tickets were still valid for Ambewela to Ella (as it is the same train, just a departure from another station) —turns out they were completely invalid, and the booking code wasn't even in the station staff's system. I've messaged the tour operator multiple times via account chat, but several days later, still no response or refund. So I would definitely recommend not buying tickets here!
