Since 1919, the South Australian Farmers’ Cooperative Union made the site renowned for producing cheese, butter, margarine, and small goods, gaining worldwide recognition. This ceased in 1976. In 1991, using 1940s-era chocolate and confectionery equipment, the current owners began fulfilling their dream of creating beloved Australian chocolates and confections.

Today, visitors can see the old cheese factory transformed into a large emporium-style confectionery factory shop. It features five distinct rooms showcasing various manufacturing processes: the Chocolate Room, Depositing Room, Packing Room, Panning Room, and Toffee Room.

Since 1994, Woodside Cheese Wrights has been producing a range of high-quality, award-winning cheeses at their Adelaide Hills facility. Their sophisticated range of cow and goat milk cheeses is crafted by sourcing milk directly from small local dairies, ensuring excellent milk quality control.

Woodside Cheese Wrights are true artisans, handcrafting all their cheeses. Some cheeses are seasonal, made only when the milk is ideal for each cheese style.

• Hahndorf - Hahndorf is a quaint town in South Australia, settled by 19th-century Lutheran migrants. It’s renowned for its original German-style architecture and artisanal food. The Hahndorf Academy houses the German Migration Museum, which traces local history. Enjoy a leisurely stroll and free time to explore.
• Mount Lofty Summit - Mount Lofty Summit, the majestic peak of the Mount Lofty Ranges in the Adelaide Hills, offers breathtaking panoramic views across Adelaide’s city skyline to the coast. Annually, over 350,000 people visit this peak, which rises more than 710 meters above sea level.

From the summit, you can follow the popular walk down to Waterfall Gully, join the Heysen Trail, or stroll along a walking trail through native bushland to Cleland Wildlife Park.

Continue your journey through the townships of Adelaide Hills to Barossa, pausing at points of interest along the way. This comprehensive tour takes you to South Australia’s premier wine region. Enjoy lunch at Kies Family Wines or an alternative venue if necessary. After lunch, visit Maggie Beer Farm and Seppeltsfield Winery to explore the grounds and visit the Jam Factory and Vasse Virgin. Stroll around these magnificent grounds.
