• Hall of Honour - Constructed in 1929, this monument commemorates the 9,000 Germans who perished in World War I and was later utilized for significant Nazi propaganda.
• Kongresshalle Nurnberg - Between 1933 and 1938, the National Socialists conducted their Party Rallies in Nuremberg. Today, remnants of these massive structures still testify to the organization and production of these propaganda displays. The exhibition at the Documentation Center Nazi Party Rally Grounds provides a detailed overview of the National Socialist dictatorship and the history of the Party Rallies. The educational forum offers a variety of programs, and information boards across the 4 square kilometers of the Nazi Party Rally Grounds explain the site’s history.
• Zeppelinfeld - From 1935 to 1937, the Zeppelinwiese was transformed according to Albert Speer’s 1934 design into a parade ground with grandstands, featuring the Zeppelin grandstand on the northeast side as a prominent backdrop. It is the only completed structure on the Reichsparteitagsgelände.
• Nuremberg Palace of Justice - Please be aware that the Palace of Justice is CLOSED ON TUESDAYS. This building hosted the Nuremberg Trials from 1945 to 1949 for the main surviving German war criminals of World War II. The Palace of Justice was selected for the trials due to its minimal damage, ample space, and large prison complex. The choice of Nuremberg was symbolic, as the Nazis had held significant rallies in the city.

The trials were conducted in courtroom number 600, located in the eastern wing of the Palace of Justice. This courtroom is still in use, particularly for murder trials. After the Nuremberg Trials, the courtroom was renovated and is now smaller. A wall that had been removed during the trials to create more space was rebuilt. Additionally, the judges’ bench was rotated 90 degrees and is no longer in front of the window but is now positioned where the witness box was during the trials.

The Major War Criminals Trial took place at the International Military Tribunal in Nuremberg from November 20, 1945, to October 1, 1946. This trial brought global recognition to Courtroom 600 of the Nuremberg Palace of Justice. Between 1946 and 1949, 12 “Subsequent Trials” were conducted in the same courtroom by U.S. military tribunals.

Today, in the southeast corner of Nuremberg, the remnants of structures on the former Nazi Party Rally Grounds continue to captivate visitors with their vast size, serving as a powerful reminder of the National Socialist regime’s grandiosity. This 4-square-mile area was designed to be a striking setting for Nazi party rallies, showcasing their power to Germany and the world.

The Palace of Justice is closed on Tuesdays.
