Jomsom and Muktinath are esteemed spiritual destinations for both Hindus and Buddhists and also offer excellent trekking experiences for travelers. These locations are revered by Hindus as sites of liberation, and they are also the origin of fossilised ammonites, or saligrams as they are locally known, which can be found in the upper Kali gandaki valley. Sightseeing in Kathmandu involves visiting ancient temples and monasteries. The Jomsom Muktinath trek begins in Beni, taking trekkers through the KaliGandaki and Muktinath valleys, ending at the Muktinath temple. The journey offers an enchanting experience as trekkers walk through the world’s deepest gorge between the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountains, pass the stunning Rupse waterfalls, warm water ponds, an apple orchard, a windy trail, the Kagbeni monastery village, and several unique villages belonging to the Thakali and Buddhist people.
