Maglic Fortress - The origins of Maglic Fortress remain a mystery, with no records of its early history. Archaeological evidence suggests it was constructed in the 13th century. Perched atop a mountain and surrounded by water on three sides, it offered a strategic vantage point, guarding the route from the ancient city of Las to the central Serbian plains. Travelers and their horses had to pass by the river at the fortress’s base, a natural defensive position. The fortress features eight towers and connecting walls, with remnants of armories, barracks, command rooms, and churches inside. Initially built to protect nearby towns and monasteries, it later served as a military post during the Ottoman Empire and a stronghold during the Serbian Revolution. Today, it stands as one of Serbia’s well-preserved fortresses.

Studenica Monastery - The medieval Nemanja dynasty represents a golden era in Serbian history, with many monasteries from this period now cherished cultural treasures. Founded by Stefan Nemanja I, the Studenica Monastery is of immense importance, as it is his final resting place. Its name derives from a section of track that forms a figure “8” when viewed from above. The route includes 10 bridges and 22 tunnels. Drina River House - The Drina River House is a picturesque Serbian landmark, gaining global attention after appearing in National Geographic magazine in August 2012. The house has a touching backstory: in 1968, two teenagers from Bajina Basta built a small wooden house on a river rock as a gathering spot for friends. Despite annual floods and major floods every 5-10 years, which destroyed the original structure, the resilient teenagers rebuilt it repeatedly. The current cabin is the seventh iteration, symbolizing their indomitable spirit.
