To do again... it was PERFECT! - This islet is to be discovered, it is among my favorite islets! It is very large, white sand gives incredible shots and its underwater bottoms are shallow and provided. Because it is a marine reserve, we were able to see with my 3-year-old many turtles, incredible, small fish and corals on the area where I had feet. My spouse did some webbed hiking on the reef and on the areas advised by the skipper of dal'ocean charter and he found the reef filled with life with very beautiful corals. The water was clear. This islet is perfect to spend a good time there, it is close to Nouméa, it has toilets and farées equipped with table to picnic, many shaded areas. The vegetation of the islet is preserved on a good part of the islet and a small path is developed. We can discover plant species and its 'SIGNAL' where we learn a little more about the history of this islet and its useful location to navigators!! I highly recommend finding out. The time for the day offered by the company is sufficient for swimming, relaxing, lunch and a walk. To do again... it was PERFECT!

Beware of the snakes - The boat ride was excellent. I did not end up going to Signal Island as there were not enough people for the booking. So the company offered me to go to Amedee Lighthouse Island. It was a cloudy start, but ended up being a beautiful day. There was voral all ovrr the beach and very difficult to get into the water so wrar sand / beach slip-ons. The only thing was there were snakes everywhere, on the beach, in the water and on the land. It was quite an anxious day and while swimming looked down and saw a snake right beside me and I couldn't get out of the water quick enough, moving to another area. This was the second snake near me as one was by my bag on the beach. They are quiet and harmless if you don't disturb them, but they make you feel anxious and they are poisonous. The chairs were unavailable to lay on as they were all chained up. However we found some on the other side of the island unchained. Don't sit too close to the grass or bush or near snake holes in the sand and keep your bags closed. There were no warnings about snakes or signs, you either walked and saw them or they found you! The island was very untidy and not at all looked after with run down buildings and rotten broken down walls that snakes loved to hide in. * Remember this was Amedee Island. NOT Signal Island so I cannot comment about Signal Island.*

My favorite island - Signal island is my favorite island from Nouméa. Turtles, loads of tropical fish, Wonderfull snorkeling. The white sand beach is very beautiful, the water is clear and my little boy swam with the turtles in shallow water. If you want to spend the day there, bring something to eat and drink. There are tables and dry toilets. We were able to relax in the shade of the trees and walk around the island. We love it.

Island paradise - We had a beautiful day on Signal Island, such a tranquil place. Snorkelling was very good, saw turtles, gorgeous fish and even a few black and white striped sea snakes. Just thought it was a bit too long, would have been happy to go at 2pm.

Trip to signal island - The operator was good, their job was to get us to the island and back which they did, they’re not a guide as advertised only a taxi service. The problem is with Viator advertising that they’d provide snorkel equipment yet operator had none or what they had were broken, old, dirty snorkels. We were able to see the turtles pop their heads up from the beach but couldn’t see them in the water due to poor equipment.

Water Taxi - This is not a tour, it is just a water taxi to get you to the island and back. Otherwise you are on your own!!

last min cancel - My 1st time to Neumeu and for 4 days only, I thought I will pick Signal Island instead of Amedee for more remote and better chance to spot wild life. and relax.. Dal'Ocean have limited services (no 1/2 day trip as I would like) - email back and forward was abit confusing and cold (assume non-English speaking issue), but they promise weather will be good for Sunday. Being travel sole and non-French speaker, my host help me to arrange taxi to arrive early at the port. I waited at the port for 30min and there were no show from Dal'Ocean Charter. Only to find out later that they have email me 6pm the night before to cancel the trip and want to rearrange for Monday instead, due to weather (windy, but sunny out of 4 days I was in Neumeu). I was all dress and plan for Island trip out (carrying 2L of water as suggested to bring alot of water).. How embarrassing is that to carry all that around. I email back at a free wifi location to say Monday fine and I have waited for 30min. Next thing I know they have canceled the booking with no explaining or confusing on my payment etc. Now, I have missed out on going to any of the Islands b/c of timing issue with other operators. Would I able to get away as a customer decide to cancel a trip with less than 24 hrs notice? Completely poor communication. Could have call my contact no# or at least a notice / note at the port for me to know. Or someone be there just in case I don't get the email? NOTHING. Absolutely rubbish services. If you are looking at trust and reputable service, Dal'Ocean Charter is not one of them. Either try Mary'D or something much smaller who actually want your business.
