- Hill Ouen Toro - Ouen-Toro hill rises up opposite this rocky point. A road runs the length of the municipal park and leads to the 128 metre-high summit overlooking the lagoon. It is topped with two superb cannons, installed by the Australian army in 1940. From up there you can take in an unparalleled view of Noumea and its surrounding region.
Coming back down, the road around the hill frequently offers many very interesting views over the various sides of the city. To the South, you will see just below you the Méridien and Château Royal hotels, bordered by Château Royal beach, as well as Anse Vata beach and, further in the distance, the islands, Île aux Canards and Îlet Maître. Continuing westwards, the two bays, Baie des Citrons and Baie de l’Orphelinat stretch out. To the North can be seen the residential districts, such as Val Plaisance, Motor Pool, Receiving and N’Géa. Lastly, to the East lie Sainte-Marie bay and its little islands. The mountains of Mont-Dore and the hills of New Caledonia’s Great South, the Grand Sud, can be seen rising in the distance.

Awesome City Tour - Everything is so cool. Our guide Chris took us everywhere and he did stop at places we want to take a photo.

Personal enjoyable and best value - This was a personalised tour taking us to places the hop on hop off bus and chu chu train do not go to including an elite pattisery we gained perspective of the area and learnt some of the history as well as having time to explore the markets. Highly recommend

Definitely do this tour :) - Daniel our guide was great. Funny and very happy to share his family stories which gave us an inside understanding of Kanak life in NC.
My teenage boys thought the tour would be boring however Daniel got us to a Boulangerie which satisfied them immensely.
Would definitely recommend this tour to any visitor to Noumea. It's Noumea in a nutshell.

Perfect way to see the city - We had a fantastic tour with Antoine. He shared lots of great info about Noumea and we got to see lots of of the city. It was just my partner and I on the tour which made it even better.

Guided tour a must - I highly recommend this guided tour. Pickup at location was right on time, and my tour guide was incredible. I learned so much history about the island and a beautiful cultural and symbolic meaning of the coconut tree and the fir tree. I won't spoil the enjoyment for you but don't forget to ask. A visit to a French Patisserie where the pastries are a sight to behold and mouth watering delicious. Manu, the owner, makes everything himself no extra staff, so don't forget to take your francs.
Stunning views from lookout points and air-conditioning left on was most welcome.
Daniel, my guide is a true gentleman, and I learned so much about the island.

Good quick way to get in the views and key sites - Great guide and comfy vehicle. The tour was brief but insightful. We appreciate our guide for giving us the history about the places and going out of his way to find the group a bakery on Christmas Day when every other place was closed. Thanks!

Revisiting Noumea. - This tour turned out to be us and the driver. He was knowledgeable and talked about things and areas we visited and passed. The tour took us into various parts of Noumea. We also visited the Cathedral.
We were happy with our choice of tour.

Noumea City - Our guide basically functioned as a driver. He did not interact well with us, and did not provide information on the city or the stops we were making. Without us asking questions we would not have learned anything. It would’ve been beneficial if he had a microphone so that he could talk while driving, I would not recommend this tour. I think the little train that ran a similar route would’ve been more informative.

Terrible - Contacted the agent twice and have requested a refund before posting this review…but no response. We were more than disappointed with this tour….more time was spent touring hotels to pick up one passenger and looking for 3 no shows than actually on the tour.
The only commentary was at two of the stopping points (the third being at the market) which were really only for pictures. No commentary on the van except when we passed a couple of points and that was only to be told what they were and nothing about them. Also it was impossible to hear even this with no microphone due to road, anir con and traffic noise.
Zero stars for this tour…with one for Daniel as he turned up on time and drove safely.
We would have been better getting the train which covered more points, was cheaper, and we are advised had informative and fun commentary.
We have done other great tours with Viator previously which is why we chose this but it failed to meet our expectations. The other couple from our ship are equally unhappy and disappointed.
I requested a refund but this email has been ignored.

Very disappointing tour - Very high step up to get into the van. If you are short, or have mobility problems don’t take this tour as there is no step or hand grab to enable easy access into the van.
For those of us in the back of the van we could not hear the guide’s commentary. We asked him multiple times to speak up as we could not hear him. He then said a few words loudly and then continued to speak softly. Why did he not have a microphone. At one stop he pointed out a Lighthouse. I asked him if it was still operational - he did not know!! The tour was very lame. We were taken to the unimpressive fruit & vegetable & fish markets. There was nothing remarkable to see. We were taken to so called “the best French pastry shop”. The pastries we purchased were stale and expensive. Would not recommend this tour.
