The guide was boring and poorly prepared. She took 15 minutes to figure out head sets.

We are members of the Chicago Architecture Center CAC and have taken over 17 tours with them. They have all been excellent. Their docent guides are extremely knowledgeable and informative.
This was our first HMI tour. The tour guide was nice, but had very limited knowledge of the properties and information on this tour. She relied far too much on reading from her notes, and often times it seemed like she was reading the information for the first time. She was not familiar with the correct pronunciation of the basic names of iconic Milwaukee families and architects featured on this tour. The positive: the headsets and audio system worked well.
As Milwaukee residents, we have been considering becoming HMI members to take advantage of the other tours offered. If this tour is indicative of the quality of the HMI tour guides, we would not consider joining or going on other tours.
