Extraordinary winter horseback ride in mid-april - I already made horseback rides in Switzerland, Chile, Argentina, Kirgistan and Kasachstan. - This tour is definitly a must have! - The horses are very calm, well trained and will enjoy the beautiful winter landscape as well as the rider.
For riders with basic experience it is also possible to start on a training ground before going on the trail.

Magical ride at night - There were four of us riding yesterday – and it was just a wonderful, almost magical experience! The ride took place at night, while it snowed very slightly, which made the atmosphere incredibly special.
Two of us had no riding experience at all, but it all worked without any problems. The horses were calm, good-natured and just great, so that everyone could really feel safe and comfortable. The whole farm is designed with so much love that you immediately felt like you were on a cozy ranch.
As a perfect conclusion, we had a homemade meal around the campfire while we sat together in a relaxed round and chatted nicely. It was just a wonderful experience all around, which we will not forget anytime soon!

A wonderful experience - It was brilliant. I was picked up at the harbour and spent the day out with the guide on my own. We had a campfire; we were really lucky and saw lots of reindeer. We had a dog sled encounter, enjoyed the sunshine and campfire tea – it was really wonderfully organised and it was a very, very, very lovely tour along the Roiver .Gloths, Shows &Helmet available

Great Ponies and Landscape - Great experience with the most outstanding scenery and gorgeous ponies.
Johnny does a great job, the coffee and cinnamon bun in the little hut half way through was very perfect

Amazing people, beautiful horses, unforgettable ride - This was such an incredible experience from start to finish. Johnny picked me up directly from my hotel, which I really appreciated, and from the moment I arrived everything felt easy, welcoming, and well taken care of. Johnny was super friendly and laid back, and you could tell he genuinely loves what he does and cares about creating a great experience.
Fenne was awesome and great company during the ride. She was really easy to talk to, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience feel relaxed and fun rather than rushed or overly structured. The vibe of the place was amazing overall—beautiful scenery, calm atmosphere, and well cared-for horses that made the ride feel very natural and enjoyable.
Riding through the snow was an absolute blast. The stop by the fire for warm drinks and food was the perfect touch and made everything feel cozy and authentic. It was one of those experiences that just feels special and memorable without trying too hard. I had an amazing time and would 100 percent recommend this to anyone visiting.

Awesome ride, great company! - Johnny was a great host! I have some experience with horseback riding and it was an ideal ride. We arranged for pickup through Flatmoen and Helge, the driver, was right on time. He told us about the area and the ranch. We rode fjord horses and Johnny adjusted the ride based on riders ability. What was great was that we had some time in the arena with the horses so were familiar with them by the time we got on the trail. It was really majestic - going through the woods as light snow came down, making everything look like it was coated in powdered sugar l. When we were done with the ride, we sat in a little hut around a fire, had some coffee or hot currant juice and a warmed cinnamon bun. We chatted around the fire and traded stories with Johnny and Helge - we were here in the low season so I’m not sure if that’s a perk everyone gets, but it was truly the highlight of our trip! Would definitely recommend Flatmoen to anyone.

Great experience with just the kindest people - This was just an incredible experience! It wasn't possible on the day I wanted to go, but they made sure that I could still ride two days later. We got warm clothes and they made sure that we had everything we needed. Johnny took a group out on a Sled Tour while I was riding with Louise. She was really kind and explained a lot of things about the nature and told stories about arctic animals. She also made sure to check in regularily so that we weren't overwhelmed. At some point we stopped around a fire and had some tasty, homemade food. Even though we were a bit short on time (partially my fault, oops) they made sure to make it a great experience.
I would highly recommend them! These people are so unbelievably kind and have created great experiences.

Such promise! But dull and uninspiring in delivery - All the ingredients, awkward delivery.
1.5 hours on a pedestrian walk with in the evening with the horses. Poor things
The fire was roaring and we were looking forward to the three course meal! I am vegetarian... The starter was cow's heart! (Even my meat eating husband had to politely pretend to eat). Then for main, I had coleslaw in a pita bread (others ate cooked reindeer meat). Then homemade cinnamon buns in tinfoil which were bland at best.
We sat in a hut - 5 people - for 1hrs 20 mins with awkward small talk,.waiting ages between 'courses' - it was as I'd each 'course' had a pre- set agreement as to the pause in-between and the guides were not natural conversationalists!
Amazing 5 star reviews here certainly made us choose this place. We can only imagine that seeing the northern lights (which we didn't), 'forgave' the experience.
We so wanted this to be amazing (we were on honeymoon). We hope the owners look at this as learnings - we would love them to do well, but honestly, the experience was at best, dull.

Bored horses, rubbish food and disengaged guides - On our honeymoon we headed into Alta for our pickup only to find that we could've driven 1km to the pick up point and saved ourselves almost an hour.
The evening started well with concern over our wellbeing and warmth.
The start of the ride was magical into a Narnia wonderland however it went downhill from there.
The ride on horse back was slow and not eventful in the slightest.
We then went into a shed with a fire in the middle to kill far too much time with small talk.
When the food came out it was tepid at best and had no flavour. Certainly was not a proper three course meal.
A dreadful waste of time and money.
Our guide couldn't be bothered, the food was below average and our horses bored.
