Floating markets - Great morning on the boat seeing the markets and rice noodle factory. Minh was an excellent and friendly guide who told us about the area and the delicious food that we ate. We also explored the canals. Our boat driver also made the kids some small gifts which they enjoyed.

An early morning adventure and glimpse of a life in the Mekong - (This review was written by responding to prompts in the AI tool; apologies if the flow doesn't sound right). A stop under the banyan tree on a small river to take pictures with hand made souvenirs by the boat captain; it reminded me of the "Kiss the girl" scene from Disney's The Little Mermaid. This particular tour took place on a smaller boat which allowed a more intimate experience versus larger multi-seats boats. This one was piloted by a single captain with a smaller engine and let you immerse in the slower life on the river instead of barreling through to the destination. It was fun to get a glimpse into what the life was like living in the Mekong; people making their livelihood selling goods, services, and fresh hot food on nothing more than small dingy sized boats; a life quickly disappearing as modern and larger land based markets start to become more popular in the area. The cost is a bargain compared so similarly priced tours, here was our particular experience: * 2 million VND (approx CAD $100) for two people which included: * pickup and drop off from the Sheraton Can Tho hotel (our hotel for this visit) * morning coffee on the water (a must for the early 6 AM departure) * a fresh hot bowl of soup on the water * a short walking tour to where they make the noodles for the said hot soup * and a safe and locally guided experience * officially 3 hours experience; Thuy and Aunt 8 were generous with extra time and we got to hang out and enjoy a longer experience It is a great price to value ratio! Be prepared for an early departure as that's where you get to see the sunrise while on the river. Thuy is knowledgeable and accommodated in multiple languages; as a foreign born of Vietnamese descent, being able to flip between Vietnamese and English greatly contributed to me fully enjoying the content. Our boat captain, Co Tam (Aunt 8), has been in the industry for over 50 years; a 75 year old lady who knew how to navigate her way around the river.

Amazing tour! - We started this tour from new pier located at Sheraton Can Tho and went to the floating market directly by a small boat. Enjoyed local foods and drink, and very good atmosphere on the river with experienced guide.
