Journey Through the Night: My VIP Sleeping Bus Adventure from Ninh Binh to Hue
Eager to explore Vietnam on a budget, I embarked on a journey from Ninh Binh to Hue aboard a VIP sleeping bus. The promise of comfort and adventure made it an irresistible choice for a digital nomad like me.
Setting Off on a New Adventure
As a digital nomad, I’m always on the lookout for unique and budget-friendly ways to explore Southeast Asia. When I heard about the VIP Sleeping Bus from Ninh Binh to Hue, I knew I had to give it a try. The idea of traveling overnight in a 20-cabin bus with all the comforts of a soft bed, privacy curtains, and even a toilet on board sounded like a dream come true for a backpacker like me.
I arrived at the Ninh Binh FootPrint Travel Office at 18:30, where the friendly English-speaking staff welcomed me. The office was equipped with Wi-Fi and a restroom, making the wait comfortable. By 19:00, the bus arrived, and I was ready to embark on this new adventure. The bus was spacious, and each cabin was equipped with a phone plug, television, pillow, and blanket. I settled into my cozy little nook, excited for the journey ahead.
The Journey Through the Night
As the bus rolled out of Ninh Binh, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of excitement. The journey promised a smooth ride along the highway, with no stops to pick up local passengers, ensuring a peaceful night’s sleep. However, as the review suggested, earplugs were a good idea to drown out the occasional honking.
We made a brief stop at Com Hue Restaurant around 20:00, where I had the chance to stretch my legs and grab a quick bite. The atmosphere was lively, with fellow travelers sharing stories and laughter. By 21:00, we were back on the road, passing through Thanh Hoa Province and heading towards Vinh City.
The bus was a hive of quiet activity, with some passengers watching movies, others reading, and a few already fast asleep. I took the opportunity to slow down the music on my phone, as suggested, to ensure a restful environment for everyone. By 02:00, we reached Dong Hoi, Quang Binh Province, and I was grateful for the comfortable bed that allowed me to catch some much-needed rest.
Arriving in Hue
As dawn broke, the bus approached Hue City, and I felt a sense of accomplishment. Traveling overnight had saved me both time and money, allowing me to wake up refreshed and ready to explore a new city. At 06:30, we arrived at our destination, and I made sure to check all my belongings before disembarking.
The drop-off point at No 2, Lam Hoang, Vy Da, Hue City center was conveniently located, making it easy to continue my journey. Reflecting on the experience, I realized that the VIP Sleeping Bus was more than just a mode of transportation; it was an adventure in itself. The camaraderie among travelers, the comfort of the cabins, and the efficiency of the journey made it a memorable part of my travels through Vietnam.
For those of you who, like me, are always seeking new and budget-friendly ways to explore, this sleeping bus offers a unique and comfortable way to travel. Just remember to pack those earplugs and be prepared for a bit of a squeeze if you’re over six feet tall!
