• Punta Jesus Maria - Punta Jesus Maria marks the westernmost point of Ometepe. A slender sandbar extends into Lake Nicaragua, reaching up to 1 kilometer into the lake during the dry season. Visitors can stroll along this sandy path, with water gently lapping from both sides. However, in the rainy season, the lake’s water level rises, causing the sandbar to vanish.
• Laguna Charco Verde - Charco Verde Natural Reserve is a protected area situated between Ometepe’s two volcanoes, at the island’s southern end. This area includes a lagoon, forest, and beach.

The lagoon, known as Laguna Verde (Green Lagoon), is separated from the lake by a narrow strip of land and serves as a sanctuary for numerous bird species.

Charco Verde Beach is among the finest on Ometepe. The serene and somewhat secluded Bancon Beach is ideal for swimming and unwinding. A hike through the forest leads to this beach and back to the reserve’s entrance, taking about an hour if you don’t pause at the beach. During the hike, you can appreciate the natural surroundings and catch a glimpse of the mainland on the horizon from this vantage point.

• El Ojo de Agua - Envision a place where you can unwind beneath the tropical forest’s shade and bathe in volcanic waters while sipping coconut water. This incredible spot, known as Ojo de Agua, is located in Ometepe’s Santo Domingo community, within the Altagracia municipality.

The water in this natural pool, called Ojo de Agua, originates from the Concepción Volcano. Being volcanic, it is rich in potassium, magnesium, calcium, sulfur, and sodium. These minerals are known to help reduce fever, muscle pain, stress, and some allergies, and some even claim they have rejuvenating effects!
