Research indicates that the Hon Mun coral reef holds international significance, boasting the highest biodiversity in Vietnam. It is home to approximately 1,500 species, including 350 types of coral, out of 2,000 coral and marine life species worldwide. Besides coral, Hon Mun’s marine ecosystem features around 250 species of reef fish, 112 species of mollusks, 122 species of crustaceans, 27 species of echinoderms, 69 varieties of seaweed and seagrass, and hermit crabs residing in mollusk shells.
In line with government regulations, snorkeling at Hon Mun Island is permitted only with a mask, excluding the use of a snorkel.
