Must do this in Nairobi - Don't miss this experience! My family had an amazing afternoon with Lucas in Kibera! He showed us the resilience of the people in Kibera and modeled it himself through the many ways he gives back to the community. A highlight of our time in Nairobi!

An exceptional experience for so many reasons . - I am SO glad I booked this tour. I only booked it 3 hours before but that was not a problem. My tour guide was exceptional, I learnt so much and all the people I met were amazing. I felt extremely safe as a solo woman the entire time. The school was a highlight and a joy. The tours help run the school so it’s a super worthwhile thing to put your time and money into. It really left me with a feeling of joy, appreciation and understanding of the community. It’s also super important to support initiatives like this as they really rely on it. You do get taken to places where you can buy things, but it’s genuinely interesting and educational and there is no pressue at all. It’s just a way for them to support themselves. Absolutely would recommend for everyone.

Largely educational - This tour was largely educational and eye-opening. Peter showed us what life is like for those living in Kibera and offered valuable insights into the community’s daily realities. He brought us deep into the residential areas and also showed us the school that he and his team has set up for children who need it the most. This tour is truly worthwhile.

A must do experience in Nairobi! - We really felt that we learnt a lot from our experience. A gentle walk that covered the markets, school and small employment projects. To be able to walk through Kibera and visit a home was very special. The tour was eye opening and made you realise the depth of the problems. Despite this the people were friendly and we had a lot of positive interactions especially with the children. Some money from the payment goes directly towards supporting the school.

Unique and meaningful experience in Kibera - The tour of Kibera with Elijah was a unique experience that allowed us to see an important side of Nairobi. During the tour, Elijah explained in detail what life inside the slum is like and introduced us to people who live there, all in complete safety. During the visit, it is possible to support the local community by purchasing handicrafts and artworks. The highlight of the tour for us was the visit to the school, a project started thanks to the hard work of the guides. Totally recommended experience – thank you Elijah and Lucas!

A positive and heartening look into daily life in Kibera - Thank you Elijah for sharing your Kibera life experience with pride of where you come from and the community initiatives started and supported by your like minded graduates of Kibera Town. I was heartened to see and feel the positive energy in all the people I met and saw. I was reminded that it’s the people you have in your community that count not material possessions and social status. The tour plan was outlined at the beginning which helped me focus on each part and gain the overall context. The people who shared their stories and goals were modest, positive, proud and content with their lives and optimistic of the future. Thank you so much for the opportunity to visit Kibera your home. Wishing you all the best in your future Jen
