An incredible day trip from Hanoi, highly recommend - A wonderful day out, exploring from incense village to Ninh Binh. My guide, Bruce Lee (Hoa), was very kind and friendly from the start, as well as being so informative about everything from the incense making process to the ancient history of Vietnam, and answered all my other questions along the way, too. He also took lots of photos for me, which is always difficult as a solo traveller! I was incredibly lucky to end up on a “private” tour as the only one booked that day, and it was very considerate for the tour to still go ahead as other companies might cancel or rebook you for another day. A great day to see beyond Hanoi with a perfect itinerary curated for you every step of the way.

Tour with Bruce Lee! What's not to love?! - I ended up being the only participant on this tour and I am so thankful it was not canceled! From the moment Hoa (aka Bruce Lee) picked me up, I knew i was going to enjoy this tour. The driver was very safe and professional and transportation was comfortable! Bruce Lee was very knowledgeable and freely shared information about his country - it made this tour extra special! Not only did I learn a lot from him, he was an excellent photographer! I ended the tour with a deeper understanding and appreciation of Vietnam. I cannot recommend this tour and Hoa/Bruce Lee enough!

Definitely worth the trip! - The tour took us to amazing places on the way to Ninh Binh valley. The incense farm was interesting. Never thought how intricate it is to make the sticks! The boat ride through the river was beautiful and the drivers row with their feet! The trip couldn’t have been as memorable without our tour guide Bruce Lee. He was knowledgeable, charming, and only wants you to have the best tour possible. I’d recommend asking for him by name, you won’t regret it.

Wonderful experience and amazing tour guide- Thanks Bruce Lee!! - This was my favorite tour in all of Vietnam. Not only was the excursion itself amazing but our tour guide, Bruce Lee, made it all the more special. At every turn he was ensuring every detail of the trip was well thought out and went perfectly smooth. He shared interesting stories about Vietnam’s history and culture and made things fun the whole way. It’s impressive how much we were able to fit into one tour and never felt rushed. I highly recommend this tour and request Bruce Lee specifically - he is incredible!

Stunning colours of the incense world. - It was an amazing experience nothing like I’ve ever done before. Absolutely fascinating to see how incense sticks are made and find out how much love and attention every single stick gets. The colours are so intense and it was just such a wonderful thing to do. Our guide Felix was fantastic when totally out of his way to make the trip memorable so much so I do it again we loved it.

Interesting place to visit if you never thought of how these little sticks of fragrance are made - Visited the incense village as part of a full day tour to Nimh Bin. Very interesting as I had never thought how these little sticks of fragrance were made. Our guide took a lot of photos as we tried to relax and look good.

A big beautiful day out - We booked this tour as a small group but were lucky enough to be the only people who booked on the day so it became a private tour. Nien was our guide and Jeff our driver. Nien was very knowledgeable and he gave great insights into Vietnamese life and culture. Jeff navigated through the chaotic traffic of Hanoi like it was nothing and when we got to our first stop of the incense village, it was an Instagram bonanza. Nien gave us plenty of free time and took some photos for us. He also gave us masks as the village where the incense is made has a lot of dust and other particles. Next stop was the temple dedicated to Vietnam's emperor, a picturesque place. We then had lunch near Tam Coc. It seems like a place for tourists only. Not a local in sight. But the food was tasty and service was friendly and fast. The highlight was the boat ride through Tam Coc - Halong Bay on land. It was beautiful! The boate rowers do push hard for sale of embroidery but just politely decline and they dont seem to mind. Be prepared for a scowl though if you dont give a tip at the end of the ride. A great day out and totally recommend.

Hanoi incense village - We visited the Frankincense Village and were well received upon arrival. The place is interesting to discover, but we found the price a little excessive compared to the time actually spent there, especially when we take into account the duration of the trip to get there. It is better to avoid visiting in rainy weather, as some parts of the route become less pleasant and less accessible. It would also be useful to have more information on the working conditions of craftsmen, which sometimes seemed difficult. Better transparency on this aspect would greatly improve the overall experience. Finally, we noticed a certain insistence of the guides for visitors to leave a review on TripAdvisor, which can make you a little uncomfortable. A more natural approach would be preferable.
