- Khe Sanh Combat Base - Although Khe Sanh Combat Base was never captured, it witnessed the most intense battle of the war. Approximately 500 American soldiers, 10,000 North Vietnamese troops, and countless civilians lost their lives around this isolated highland base. Today, it is hauntingly serene, but in 1968, the hillsides shook with the force of 1000kg bombs, white phosphorus shells, napalm, mortars, and relentless artillery fire, as American forces fought desperately to fend off the NVA.
- Vinh Moc Tunnel - Quang Tri, the provincial capital of the area, is situated in Vietnam’s Central Region, near the crossroads of North and South Vietnam, Laos, and Thailand. The province is home to numerous remnants from the anti-American resistance war, including the ancient citadel of Quang Tri, Khe Sanh Combat Base, Truong Son National Cemetery, Truong Son Trail, Vinh Moc Tunnels, Hien Luong Bridge, and Ben Hai River.
The Vinh Moc Tunnel complex was excavated and utilized as shelters by local village families during the American Vietnam War to protect themselves from the continuous bombings.
