A local doing local things - Stepping out as a local in Sydney is rewarding. Melinda certainly knew her street art and the history of Newtown. The pies, different foods and a local craft beer were all truly a fabulous experience. I’ve lived in Sydney for over 30 years and really enjoyed seeing another side of streets I’ve driven through many times.

Experience an open-air gallery! - I’m a fan of graffiti and I absolutely love this dynamic neighborhood which is like an open-air gallery! Our guide Andrew is very considerate and humorous who revealed the hidden gems even on an inconspicuous brick for us. I’m really glad that I joined this tour out of downtown Sydney where everyone flocks to see the well-known landmarks, instead this immersive tour led us concretely understand how, after World War II, aging buildings, having undergone industrial relocation, attracted artistic groups with low rents, thus achieving revival. Also, I’ve had a lot of falafel before and this was the first time I tried Egyptian falafel with sesame on and veggies in it—so tasty! The route design is pretty nice, at first I thought it would be exhausting to walk for 3 hours but since we stopped at several restaurants and bar, it’s relatively easy to follow the pace. Highly recommend!

Fabulous Fun Food, Delightful Guide, Awesome Street Art! - My husband, Steve, & I loved the Newtown Street Art & Food Walking Tour on our first evening in Sydney Australia. Justin S. & his trainee, Nick were excellent, charming guides. They shared interesting history as well as amusing stories about street art & great food in Newtown. Food included awesome Aussie meat pies at The Pie Tin, Turkish ice cream (always a favorite) at Hooked on Hakiki, delicious vegan Mexican tacos, Egyptian falafel wrapped in cucumber, & Young Henry's brewery beverages. All Yummy!!! 🥰 February 11, 2026

Eye opening and fun - We had no idea what to expect from this tour and were blown away . Even though we’re locals we learnt so much about Newtown’s history and a little about the more colourful locals . Our guide Steve was really chatty ( which I love ) and shared his reasons for loving the area so much . The food was varied and delicious however the star of the experience was the art work . I had no idea there was such a variety of different styles on display on nearly every street . Totally recommend this .
