Must see geothermal site and lake - Idealic location, set on lake so as soon as you arrive you get a sense of calm. The geothermal site was stunning and pretty active, but be aware lots of stairs. It appears there were other activities also available on the lake such as boating and helicopter tour. I am telling my friends this is a must see in this region. There are other attractions close by but they are busy with tourists, but still worth visiting. Good cafe and toilets on site.

Beautiful and impressive natural phenomenon - Walking around here today, beautiful and impressive how the earth, the water here bubbles and vaporizes, with the sulfur smell. A visit is worthwhile, especially to see this natural phenomenon. Keep in mind that you have to walk a lot of stairs😀

Such an awesome place,... - Such an awesome place, very different and much quieter than the other geothermal sites that we visited in the Rotorua area. Well worth a visit while driving south from Rotorua to Lake Taupo.

Incredible peaceful geothermal - A peaceful beautiful geothermal experience with lots of variety and the added touch of the stunning cave and the bush walks with information signs of all the plants. For best experience then early on a sunny day shows the wonderful colours of the different minerals and a lovely quiet environment. We even got lucky to see sapphire geyser eruption and well as some smaller active water eruptions. Recommend to everyone who comes to the area. Care with young children as must stick to walkways as the walkways cross the geothermal areas allowing you to get great views but dangerous to step off paths.

Not to be missed - An exceptional site that has nothing to envy in Waitapu. The colors are beautiful, the vegetation is abundant and explained, there are few people so, you have the site to yourself. And, most importantly, at the reception a lovely young Breton
