Dante was very courteous. We got stuck in traffic and he waited for us (we were 1/2 hour late) . He was friendly and very helpful. The places he took us to had delicious food. We were a group of three adults. Two of us are history enthusiasts and would have loved more details about the history of the Lower East Side as well as the history of the restaurants and food we were sampling. As I mentioned, the food was delicious. I would, however change the order of the visits or the selections. The extrmeme saltiness of the samples left us with unquenchable thirsts for the remainder of the day and evening. I would recommend this tour, though to first time tourists to NYC.
Josh was a great tour guide and so knowledgeable of not only the food, but the city. Every place we went to, the process was smooth from getting a table to getting the food, and Josh thought ahead to make sure we all got samples. The food at each restaurant was great. I would definitely do another tour in another area!
The tour guide was great! The concept is even better, however, when we arrived to the different places to eat, no one really cared. ALL of the food was great though. Just wish that we had a warmer reception than we did. Katzs deli was one of the WORST locations due to the employees that "helped" us. She was rude, and had no problem telling us go find seats elsewhere.
Loved the tour guide, the stops, and the food! Wonderful!
Though we had fun and enjoyed the tour, we were a bit disappointed that the tour was not more historic in nature. We thought we were going to learn more about the history of the lower east side, and not just about the history of the eating establishments.
Dante is great...very personable. The choice of food venues was excellent. I have been on other food tours where the guide would talk about the history of the area, architecture, points of interest etc along with the food. A little more of that and I would give the tour 5 stars.
