This was our second outing with Sag Harbor Sailing, aboard CONSUELA. We were seven aboard for a full day, with two one child, 11, and one adult, late '30's, with no and little experience. Bright sun. Cool day. A frisky breeze from NW at 16 - 22 mph bustling up a lively chop. Much care needed to be taken to return three girls, 9, 11 and 11, to the dock as happier sailors than when we began. The brilliant Captain Bob Sullivan had already reefed the main, we were at one in sailing with a half-jib. His diplomacy, knowledge and good spirits meant we had a fabulous time. Everyone took turns at the wheel, worked the sheets and the girls sang their hearts out with joy. Why not a ***** review!?
Nobody knows sailing in the Hamptons better than the guys at Sag Harbor Sailing. Boats are in great working order and easy access to all the bays and shelter island.

Engine starts easily, wonderful to have chart plotter and working electronics, and bimini is great for shade on a sweltering day. Also so wonderful to be able to bring dinghy and paddleboard. Add wind and you have heaven on earth!
This was my second time on the Catalina '34. The boat is in great shape for an 80s-built, and really nicely set-up with electronics (including a touch-screen nav plotter), it is super-comfy and clean, and easy to sail. I took a practice session with Bob to familiarize myself with the boat, and it was a great experience, with Bob being a very friendly and helpful teacher. The second time I booked "Consuela" for a 2-day overnighter with my girlfriend. Day 1 was a perfect sailing day, and we had a nice time on the boat, staying on a dock on Shelter Island overnight. The next day was rainy with little wind, but we still found the boat very cosy to stay in and motored home without any problems. Steven at Sag Harbor Sailing was always available by phone and text when a question came up, and he set us up with the dock option on very short notice by making a bunch of calls to marinas in the area. Overall, the people at Sag Harbor Sailing are super-friendly, easy-going, helpful, and knowledgeable, and they take pride in taking care of their customers and their boats. I will definitely come back and highly recommend them to anyone who wants to learn to sail or is looking to charter a sailboat in the Hamptons.
